Over the last few years, Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown to unimaginable proportions. With 27 movies, six Netflix series, five Disney+ series, comic books, and all the other sorts of media and merchandise available to the fans, it’s no wonder that the MCU is the highest-grossing movie franchise of all time.
With so many characters on the table, both actors and fans have numerous ideas for the potential crossovers and meet-ups in the franchise. While we’re all waiting for the fifth Avengers movie, we are eager to see what other team-ups we’ll see in the future movies. Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch will team up in the upcoming movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor will both be featured in Thor: Love and Thunder. Eternals also teased a potential meeting between Dane Whitman and Blade. Fans are also still expressing their desire for the proper team-up between Spider-Man and Daredevil (especially after Matt Murdock showed up in one scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home).
But, Spider-Man actor Tom Holland has one more idea. How does the idea of Spider-Man teaming up with Black Widow 2.0/Yelena Belova sound? Well, Holland and Florence Pugh, who debuted as Yelena in the Black Widow movie last year and reprised her role in the Hawkeye series, are all up for it.
“It hasn’t been suggested to the big bosses yet, but Florence and I have definitely spoken about it, and hopefully, one day, we can make that happen. That would be very cool.” — Tom Holland for BBC
After Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was Holland’s third Spider-Man movie and his sixth appearance as the web-slinger in the MCU, fans have wondered if Holland is ready to play Spider-Man again. Producers Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige already revealed that Spider-Man 4 is in development, and Feige also confirmed that Spider-Man will show up in the next big crossover. However, Holland remained coy about his return, but it seems like he’s ready now to wear superhero tights again, especially if Florence Pugh will join him on the set.
Spider-Man Home trilogy in the MCU is known for having special guests stars. Robert Downey Jr played Tony Stark/Iron Man in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Samuel L Jackson reprised his role as Nick Fury (technically) in Spider-Man: Far From Home, while Benedict Cumberbatch showed up as Doctor Strange, with numerous other special guest stars in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Following the pattern, we could probably expect one more big MCU name showing up in Spider-Man 4? Could it be Yelena? We don’t know. Would we like to see it? Oh yeah!
