Tom Holland Wants to Build a Free School to Rival London’s Top Private Schools
Tom Holland has revealed a big goal for his life outside of acting, and it has nothing to do with movies. The Spider-Man actor told sources in an interview that he wants to open a completely free school in England that could rival the best private schools in the country.
Holland explained, “I have an end goal of what I’d like to do, which is essentially that I’d like to build a school with the best facilities that any school in London can offer, but is totally free and rivals any private school in the country.”
He added that the school would be for students who might not be able to afford such opportunities, calling it his “lifelong goal.”
The idea is connected to his charity, The Brother’s Trust, which was founded by his parents, Nikki and Dominic Holland.
The charity is run by the whole family, including Tom and his three brothers Sam, Harry, and Paddy. According to the organization, their mission is to “shine a light on and to help charities who struggle to be heard in the noisy not-for-profit sector” by funding and promoting smaller, under-recognized charities.
Even though Holland is busy with his acting career, he says he feels lucky for the opportunities he has. He said, “I am blessed to be doing what I’m doing” and said he is “lucky” to be on the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, his fourth solo Spider-Man film in the MCU.
By the time it comes out next year, he will have been playing Spider-Man for over a decade, making him the longest-running live-action Spider-Man.
Outside of film, Holland has also been working with LEGO on their Never Stop Playing campaign. The campaign encourages adults to never lose the joy of play they had as kids. Holland starred in a short film for the campaign alongside his brothers.
He said, “I think that play is a great icebreaker” and praised the LEGO Group for inspiring people to stay playful. He also mentioned that it excites him just to be part of a project called Never Stop Playing.
