Tragic Loss: ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Dies in Car Accident
Brad Everett Young, the actor and celebrity photographer, has died at the age of 46, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed. Young suffered fatal injuries in a car accident on Sunday, September 14, in California.
According to Young’s publicist, Paul Christensen, the accident occurred late at night on the 134 Freeway after Young had been to see a movie. “His car was hit by a vehicle driving the wrong direction,” Christensen said.
The other driver survived and was hospitalized, but Young died at the scene.
Young had a long career in both television and film. He appeared in shows like Forever, Boy Meets World, Felicity, Charmed, Beverly Hills, 90210, The Practice, Charlie’s Angels, and Grey’s Anatomy. His film credits included Love & Basketball, Rumor Has It…, Austin Powers in Goldmember, The Artist, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
In addition to acting, Young was a renowned celebrity photographer. On Instagram, he had over 2 million followers who admired his portraits.
His photography work appeared in major publications including The Hollywood Reporter, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, PEOPLE, and Variety. He photographed stars such as David Harbour, Seth Green, and Gavin Casalegno.
Young was known for his friendships in Hollywood, including a close connection with the late Paul Walker. In December 2024, he posted a tribute to Walker on Instagram, calling him an “old friend” and reflecting on their bond.
He also founded Dream Loud Official, a grassroots initiative supporting music and arts programs in schools across the United States. Christensen said, “Brad’s passion for both the arts and the people behind them was unmatched. He lived his mission of keeping creativity alive, and his legacy will continue through Dream Loud Official.”
Brad Everett Young will be remembered both for his talent in front of the camera and behind it, as well as for his dedication to nurturing creativity in young artists.
