[Trailer] Destry Spielberg Unleashes Terrifying Debut With Post-Apocalyptic Horror ‘Please Don’t Feed the Children’

A new horror film called Please Don’t Feed the Children is set to arrive on Tubi later this month. This movie marks the first feature directed by Destry Allyn Spielberg, daughter of famous filmmaker Steven Spielberg. The film will be available on June 27 and stars Michelle Dockery, known for her role in Downton Abbey. The screenplay was written by Paul Bertino.
The story is set in a near future where a virus has wiped out most adults. A group of orphans tries to find a fresh start by heading south. But their hope soon turns to danger when they are captured by a woman with a dark secret.
The cast also includes Zoe Colletti, Andrew Liner, Dean Scott Vazquez, Regan Aliyah, Emma Meisel, Joshuah Melnick, Vernon Davis, and Giancarlo Esposito. Filming took place in Santa Fe, New Mexico, starting in July 2023.
Despite the SAG-AFTRA strike, the production continued thanks to a special agreement. However, some problems arose later, with reports that certain crew members and vendors had not been paid as of May 2024. Tax credits from New Mexico are being held until those payments are settled. Lead producer Jason Dubin has confirmed the delays and said they are working to secure more funding to clear these debts.
The film had its first screening at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain on October 11, 2024, before Tubi acquired the rights to release it in the U.S. and Canada.
With its eerie tone and tense storyline, Please Don’t Feed the Children combines horror with psychological thriller elements. The tagline warns: “Don’t run. Don’t scream. Don’t break the rules. And, whatever you do, please don’t feed the children.” It looks like a promising start for Destry Spielberg’s career as a director.
Personally, I’m interested to see how this film turns out. It has a strong cast and a gripping premise. What about you? Will you watch Please Don’t Feed the Children when it premieres on Tubi? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
