Two fan-favorite bounty hunters, Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane, are back in Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld. This new animated series from Lucasfilm and Disney+ will premiere on May 4, 2025, also known as Star Wars Day. It is the third part of the Tales series, following Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire.

The show will have six episodes, each telling new stories about these famous characters. Ventress, a former dark side assassin, is given a second chance at life and must go on the run with an unlikely ally. Meanwhile, outlaw Cad Bane faces his past when he meets an old friend who is now a lawman.

In the new trailer, Ventress is seen wearing a torn cloak and using her yellow lightsaber against a mysterious enemy with a red blade. A young Padawan is also shown struggling to survive after Order 66. Bane, with his iconic wide-brimmed hat, is in a tense blaster fight as steelpeckers fly overhead. The scene is similar to his live-action duel in The Book of Boba Fett.

The show’s poster reveals more new characters, along with a familiar face—Latts Razzi, a Theelin bounty hunter first seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The poster features a credit symbol, completing a trilogy of designs that included the Jedi and Imperial symbols in the previous Tales series.

The voice cast includes Nika Futterman as Asajj Ventress and Corey Burton as Cad Bane. Other cast members include Artt Butler, Lane Factor, AJ LoCascio, Clare Grant, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, and Eric Lopez.

Dave Filoni created the series and is the supervising director. He is also an executive producer alongside Athena Yvette Portillo and Carrie Beck. Josh Rimes is the co-executive producer, Alex Spotswood is the senior producer, and Matt Michnovetz is the writer.

Fans can watch Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire now on Disney+, then get ready for Tales of the Underworld when it arrives on May 4, 2025.
