Ultimate Spider-Man’s New Sidekick Joins the Fight—Plus, the Black Suit Returns!

Big changes are coming to Ultimate Spider-Man! In upcoming issues, Peter Parker will no longer be fighting alone—his son, Richard Parker, is stepping in as his new sidekick. Together, they’ll take on the Sinister Six in a major turf war in New York City.

Unlike traditional Spider-Man stories, the Ultimate Universe shows Peter Parker as a married man with kids. Now, for the first time, he’ll be teaming up with his son as two Spider-Men fighting side by side. Richard will be getting help from Peter’s black picotech suit, which acts like an A.I. assistant, keeping him safe and guiding him in battle.

Marvel has revealed that Ultimate Spider-Man #17, written by Jonathan Hickman and illustrated by Marco Checchetto, will be part of a bigger storyline involving the return of the Maker—the villain responsible for creating this version of the Ultimate Universe. Meanwhile, Peter and Richard’s fight against the Sinister Six will be a key part of the chaos unfolding in the city.

Interestingly, there’s no mention of the Green Goblin in the latest issue’s description. Harry Osborn has been working with Peter against Wilson Fisk’s Sinister Six, but after being captured by Kraven the Hunter, his fate is uncertain. The cover art hints at trouble, showing a burning Green Goblin mask with what appears to be Norman Osborn’s reflection.

Before joining his dad against the Sinister Six, Richard will first face off against Black Cat, Felicia Hardy. She’s seeking revenge against Spider-Man for crippling her father, the original Black Cat.
