Undead Unluck: Who Are Latla and Leila? Meet the Mirah Sisters!

Undead Unluck is a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshifumi Tozuka, which has been ongoing since January 20, 2020, and has now been collected in 18 volumes as of the time of writing. The story is a supernatural adventure filled with humor, so you can imagine the series will be filled with ridiculous powers and abilities. But, aside from these, the world of Undead Unluck is also filled with various intriguing characters, and the topic of this article is going to be related to two of them – Latla and Leila Mirah. This is the first time we’re writing about siblings from Undead Unluck, so we hope this will be an interesting read.

Leila Mirah has a tragic story that relates to Rip’s past

What can we tell you about Leila Mirah? She was a very sweet and caring person, also very kind and very gentle. When they were children, her personality was in contrast with her sister’s aggressive behavior. But, despite the fact that she was kind and gentle, she was also a fatalist, which was a result of her disease, a topic we are going to address in the upcoming paragraphs of this section.

Namely, Leila Mirah was sick with an unnamed heart condition. It gave her some time to live, but she knew she was going to die since there was no cure for the disease. Both Latla and Rip worked hard to find a cure, but as they did not succeed, Leila became a fatalist, as we have stated above. In time, with her fiancé and sister failing to find a cure, she did die, and this is what actually drove Rip Tristan to become the villainous Unrepair; he simply wanted to find a way to cure Leila, even if it meant that he had to cure her from dying in the first place.

This was the gist of the Unrepair Arc, and we can actually confirm that Unrepair succeeded in doing that. Namely, an operation was eventually performed on Leila, and she was brought back to life. she is currently alive and well in the series. After recovering from the operation, she even joins Union with her sister and Rip; the three of them try to recruit Enjin to the group. And that is her story.

Latla is very close to Rip at the moment

Now that we have told you about Leila, we also have to tell you a bit about Latla, who was completely different than her sister. Latla has an aggressive demeanor, although she is – beneath it all – very kind and caring. This was best seen through her relationship with Leila, whom she cared about a lot and was quite struck when she died. On the other hand, this helped her determination to work with Rip to find a way to bring Leila back. She is also quite calm and composed in critical situations, which is quite useful. On the other hand, she also cares a lot about her appearance, as she was quite upset when blood ruined her makeup in the series.

She later worked with Rip during the Unrepair Arc, and after switching sides, she joined her sister and Rip in Union as well, with the three of them – as we have said – working to recruit Enjin.

She also has a Negator ability called Untrust, which is very useful in battle. Namely, she generally has the ability to foresee the future, and when she combines this with her Untrust ability, she can be quite dangerous in a fight. Namely, with her foreseeing ability, she can tell what is going to happen and she can then use her Untrust ability to make it not happen, i.e., to make false predictions come true. This explains why she is so dangerous in battle.
