Who Are The Warriors Eternal?

This first episode of the show does what every good episode should do, set the stage for what is coming. By only using twenty minutes, Tartakovsky and his team set up an epic tale that expands through the realms of magic and time. The episode’s title, “The Awakening,” refers to the nature of the Warriors Eternal, a group of warriors that use the symbol of the unicorn, the most powerful and purest creature, to represent themselves in their battle against evil.

We are introduced to the three eternal warriors as they battle an evil spirit in the shape of a giant snake. The warriors are Melinda, Edred, and Seng. Melinda is a beautiful woman engulfed in black flames, while Edred looks like a dark elf, donning beautiful diamond armor and a powerful sword. Seng looks like a monk who has achieved Nirvana. The battle against the evil spirit is brutal, but Melinda uses her power to kill the creature. However, this is not the end.

Melinda is severely hurt from the battle, and she will die soon. At that moment, Merlin, the famous magician, appears before the Warriors. Merlin declares that their souls must be preserved because the three are the only ones capable of destroying the evil spirit. Seng agrees as it is the only way to maintain peace on Earth. Merlin introduces Copernicus, a robot from the future, to the group. Copernicus will be the one who will take their souls and bring them back to life as needed in the future.

How Do The Warriors Eternal Return To Life?

We see a montage of Copernicus waking up further and further in time. Each time he wakes up, it responds to the evil spirit returning to the world of the living. As he wakes up, he searches for the reincarnations of the Warriors and then releases their souls, so they can possess their new bodies. The warriors defeat the evil spirit, protecting the world, and the cycle repeats endlessly. Copernicus wakes up one last time, but there is something different this time.

Copernicus doesn’t wake up by himself. Instead, he is woken up by three mysterious figures who are digging him up from a cemetery where he slept. The three mysterious figures reveal themselves as robots. Copernicus is baffled by the presence of these robots, but he dispatches them. He then searches for the warriors, as something evil is definitely coming. Here, we jump into a city that looks very much like a steampunk version of London. There, we meet a young girl named Emma, who is about to get married.

We meet Emma and her parents, and it seems like this day will be amazing. Emma will marry at a beautiful church, and it will be Winston, the love of her life. The ceremony begins, but Copernicus interrupts it. He releases Melinda’s soul, which goes inside Emma and transforms her. Emma now looks like Melinda, but she is confused. Unlike other past times, this time, Melinda’s soul didn’t possess the new body. Emma’s consciousness still has control. Confused, Emma flies away using her new powers.

At the cemetery, we see a mysterious woman looking over the bodies of the destroyed robots. She seems to be the enemy of the warriors and has a plan concerning an elephant that is also buried in the cemetery. Meanwhile, Copernicus follows Emma and shows her a painting hidden in the city’s sewers. He explains, without words, that Emma is the reincarnation of Melinda. Melinda looks at the painting and sees Seng and Edred. She asks who they are and if they may know what is happening to her. Copernicus and Melinda leave the city as they search for the two missing members of the Warriors.
