Welcome to the Ending Explained for Unsolved Mysteries. The latest volume of the famous TV series has arrived on Netflix to show us some of the most strange cases around. The series focuses not only on unresolved crimes but also on conspiracy theories, aliens, ghosts, and anything that cannot be explained through normal means. It is quite fascinating and humbling to see all these stories. It makes you realize that even with all our technological advancements, there are still things beyond our limits.

The case of the mystery at mile marker 45 is one filled with corruption, ineptitude, and certainly a lot of evil. The show presents the case in a very classic way, doing interviews and some dramatic recreations of the events. However, the entire case feels pretty vague, and because the series could not get interviews from some very important participants in the story, the case feels quite incomplete.

How Did Tiffany Disappear?

The episode begins by introducing us to Tiffany Valiante, a young 18-year-old woman who is getting ready to go to college and start her new life. The episode presents Tiffany as a very normal girl who likes to play football, has friends, goes to parties, and just likes to have a good time. However, on the night of her death, some strange things start happening, and from there, the mystery of what happened to Tiffany on that night in July 2015 becomes a legend.

Tiffany was seen that night going to a party very close to her house. However, something strange happens when she goes out. Her parents are witnesses to some conflict between Tiffany and one of her friends, who says Tiffany used her credit card without her permission. Tiffany denies the allegation but later confesses to her mother that it was true, she used her friend, credit card without her permission. Her mother goes into the house, and just minutes later, when she goes out, Tiffany is not there anymore.

The night continues, and hours pass, and Tiffany doesn’t communicate back to her parents. Everyone starts looking for her, and the family even goes to the police. Tiffany has never done something like this, so her parents are normally concerned and worried about their daughter. The police do find Tiffany, but she is dead. Her uncle goes to the scene and identifies the body of Tiffany, with too much pain. He later tells the news to Tiffany’s parents, and from there the mystery becomes a story of mismanagement at the highest level.

Tiffany was found dead at Mile Marker 45, dismembered over the train rails.

What Happened To Tiffany On Mile Marker 45?

Nothing makes sense for Tiffany’s parents. What happened to her daughter? Why is she laying dismembered on the rail tracks? New Jersey’s transit police are the ones dealing with the investigation, and they do a quick job of it. They mark Tiffany’s death as a suicide, and they close the case forever just a couple of days after the event. Tiffany’s parents cannot believe their daughter committed suicide. They and others who start searching through the records of the investigation start seeing that there might be foul play.

The main engineer and student engineer onboard the train are questioned, and their declarations are vague at best. However, one of them says that they saw Tiffany jumping into the rails from the bushes. Weeks later, the two men would have different declarations, with only the student engineer confirming that he saw something jump from the bushes into the rails.

The investigation of the police is also put into question because they jumped through every single procedure when it comes to dealing with a potential murder. The toxicology study done on the body showed there were no drugs or alcohol in Tiffany’s body, but nothing was deemed suspicious by the police, not even the fact that Tiffany’s body was found without her shorts and shoes. The shoes are discovered by Tiffany’s mom weeks later near her house. It is definitely something creepy going on.

Sometime later, a convenience store attendant goes to the police with information about the case. He says he heard some clients talking about Tiffany and how she was picked up by a man and two females in a car the night of her death, and how they took out her shorts and humiliated her. The people who the attendant hears saying those things are brought to the police, but they deny saying any of that. It is probably true that Tiffany was murdered and thrown into the rails by someone as the train passed.

There are many other strange clues that don’t add up, but in doing a rechecking of the case in 2018 the police came to the same conclusion that Tiffany committed suicide.
