‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Star Tom Hardy Eager to Join the MCU—But Not as Venom
Venom: The Last Dance is poised for a global release in just a few days, marking a significant milestone for the SSU. This film represents the end of an era for Venom and Eddie, as well as Tom Hardy’s farewell to the role, confirming that this is the final installment.
Recent reports indicate that Knull and other symbiotes are ready to crossover into the MCU. Additionally, Hardy has expressed his eagerness to join the MCU in a different capacity, stating that he would love to play another character.
As a reminder, both Eddie and Venom are now part of the MCU canon following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. A fragment of the symbiote was left behind when Eddie returned to his original universe, and it appears that Venom: The Last Dance will delve deeper into this detail.
During the Venom 3 panel at New York Comic Con, Tom Hardy expressed his desire to face off against Spider-Man, stating, “I would love to fight Spider-Man. I would love to fight him now. I’m happy to fight Spider-Man today, 100 percent.” He further added, “I would never say never. We were specifically set up to bring Venom to a movie format, and that’s what we’ve done. The Last Dance is the final piece in that trilogy, and we’re really excited about that.”
This is very encouraging news, as fans have embraced Hardy’s portrayal of Venom. Even though his era as Venom is coming to an end, Hardy has confirmed that he would be open to returning as a different character.
When asked which Spider-Man might draw him into the MCU, Hardy responded, “without the shadow of a doubt,” naming Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. He also expressed interest in both playing and fighting other characters:
Hardy: Uh, well to play them, just to play – I’d play other Marvel characters.
CB: I meant, as far as Venom fighting them.
Hardy: Oh, I’d fight anyone, just anybody.
CB: Venom Incredible Hulk, let’s do it

We’re still waiting to see how the movie wraps up and how Eddie’s story will be concluded. While many fans would love to see Hardy in the MCU as Venom—especially in a showdown with Hulk—the idea of him taking on a different character is intriguing as well.
