[VIDEO]: Check out the First Look at MCU’s Galactus
This year’s SDCC has been a wild ride. Marvel Studios stunned everyone in Hall H by announcing Robert Downey Jr. as the MCU’s Doctor Doom and sharing new updates about the upcoming ‘Avengers’ movies.
Significant updates were also given for ‘Thunderbolts*’ and ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’ Additionally, the upcoming ‘Fantastic Four’ movie now has an official title: ‘First Steps.’
It’s been confirmed once again that the film will feature a futuristic take on the 1960s setting and aesthetic, presenting New York as “what you’ve seen from the 60s and something more.”
Director Matt Shakman also revealed his goal to make the Fantastic Four’s powers feel real by consulting scientists and animal experts. And there’s also the footage…
The footage, shot in a 4:3 aspect ratio to resemble retro television, begins with Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) teaching a class and asking if they want to see an explosion. The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) appears as a silhouette on the dating show “The Dating Game.” The team is then shown in astronaut suits with their last names on them, boarding a retro-futuristic rocket. As the rocket takes off, the aspect ratio changes. The footage concludes with Galactus’ comic-accurate face partially visible behind a building.
The MCU’s version of Galactus will be portrayed by Ralph Ineson. ‘The Fantastic Four’ is scheduled for release on July 25, 2025, with filming set to begin in a few days at Pinewood Studios in London.
