[VIDEO] Leaked ‘Thunderbolts*’ Trailer Reveals Sentry, Ghost’s and Taskmaster’s New Costumes
This summer’s SDCC and D23 events have brought numerous MCU-related announcements, with one of the most anticipated being the upcoming ‘Thunderbolts*’ movie. This film will focus on a team of anti-heroes from previous Marvel Studios projects, often compared to Marvel’s version of the Suicide Squad—a comparison that seems fitting based on the latest trailer.
Exclusive footage was shown at both SDCC and D23 and now that trailer has leaked online. The full trailer offers exciting first looks at several key elements, which you can check out below.
In the footage, Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) visits her adoptive father, Red Guardian (David Harbour), to express her dissatisfaction with her work. The trailer then shifts to an intense fight scene featuring Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), John Walker (Wyatt Russell), and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), all set to The Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind.” As the characters converge, they realize they’ve been set up to battle each other. The trailer also introduces “Bob” (Lewis Pullman), who is heavily hinted to be Sentry, as his logo and invulnerability are briefly showcased. Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julie Louis-Dreyfus) is seen assembling the team of assassins. The trailer ends on a humorous note with Yelena advising her new teammates to ignore Red Guardian’s ramblings.
The most exciting part of the trailer is the first glimpse of Sentry. Though details are limited, it’s clear that he’s bulletproof, and his costume—suggested by a belt buckle—will likely appear later in the movie. Additionally, Ghost and Taskmaster seem to sport radically different costumes in this film.
‘Thunderbolts’ looks promising, a sentiment shared by many fans, especially after a somewhat challenging development process due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. The movie is currently scheduled for release in theaters on May 2, 2025.
