Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson End Feud at Golden Globes with Unexpected Show of Friendship
Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had a public feud during the filming of the ‘Fast & Furious’ movies. The tension started in 2016 when they disagreed on set, with Johnson openly criticizing some of his co-stars including calling “them” “chicken shit” and “candy ass:” It turns out he was referring to Diesel.
The feud continued for years, with both actors speaking about their differences in interviews.
At the 2025 Golden Globes, Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson met when Diesel went on stage to present an award to “Wicked.” Diesel paused during his speech to say, “Hey, Dwayne,” who was in the audience, and the camera showed Johnson awkwardly smiling in the crowd, while the audience laughed because of their past feud.
The feud was long and legendary at least in celebrity circles and it seemingly ended back in 2023 when Johnson surprised fans by appearing as Luke Hobbs in a Fast X mid-credits scene.
Diesel had invited Johnson to join Fast X in 2021, but Johnson had said he wouldn’t return. It turned out to be a bluff, and now the two will work together again in the upcoming 11th “Fast” movie.
In April 2023, Louis Leterrier was announced as the director for the sequel to ‘Fast X’ and ‘Hobbs & Reyes,’ with Christina Hodson and Oren Uziel as screenwriters. The movie was originally set for release in 2025, but production was delayed due to the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes.
The film, which will be the final installment of the series, was later pushed to 2026, and it might feature a new antagonist and a storyline similar to the first movie.
