Vin Diesel recently shared a heartfelt post about his longtime friend Michael Caine, and it caused a wave of concern among fans online.

The Fast and the Furious star took to Instagram to celebrate his decades-long friendship with the British acting legend, but some readers initially misread the post as a memorial.

In his message, Diesel reflected on their bond, which he described as being more like family than just friendship.

The post came after they appeared together at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, where Caine accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award on stage alongside his three grandchildren. Diesel wrote, “The world saw me hand you a Lifetime Achievement Award this week. Your wife, daughters and grandchildren watching. What they didn’t see was everything else.”

Diesel shared how their friendship began when he was at the peak of his own career and struggling with fame. “When we first met, I was drowning in a fame I never learned to carry. You taught me grace. Resolve. How to stand in my light when I didn’t know how,” he wrote.

He also recalled how Caine supported him after the tragic death of his Fast and the Furious co-star Paul Walker in 2013. “Twelve years ago, I lost someone I was not ready to lose… that the world was not ready to lose. You were there… not with words, but with purpose. You allowed me to play Kaulder. When mortality had its grip on my life, you brought immortality. The Last Witch Hunter wasn’t just a film; it was my resurrection.”

Diesel highlighted how Caine’s family welcomed him as one of their own. “Whenever I’m at your house, I notice the walls. Only photographs of family. Not legends or movies, just family. That is not simplicity. That is a declaration. And once, in a room full of Nolan, Poitier and Hollywood royalty, you stood and introduced me as your son. Powerful moment,” he added.

He concluded the post by reflecting on their shared journey. “We’re just two kids from nothing, dreamers who became something. You said I speak to the world, but Michael… you speak to eternity. I love you. Forever,” Diesel wrote.

While the message was intended as a tribute to their friendship, some fans panicked online, fearing the worst. “Bro, you scared me for a second,” one user wrote.

Another said, “This made me think he was dead.” Others admitted they had to quickly check the news to confirm Caine was still alive. “Anyone else panic and Google to make sure Sir Michael Caine was still alive?” asked one fan, while another added, “Man, I just woke up and I thought we lost him. Scared the s**** out of me.”
