‘VisionQuest’ Episode Runtimes Revealed, and Marvel’s Final Chapters Are Going Big
Marvel fans are less than 2 weeks away from the final chapter of the ‘WandaVision’ trilogy, and anticipation for ‘VisionQuest’ is building fast. The series premieres on October 14 on Disney+, picking up the story that started with ‘WandaVision’ in 2021 and continued with ‘Agatha All Along’ in 2024.
This time, Paul Bettany’s White Vision takes center stage on an existential quest to recover his lost memories and humanity, while on the run with a mysterious teenager connected to his past. James Spader also returns as Ultron for the first time since 2015’s ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, existing as one of the AI personalities embedded in Vision’s programming.
Now fans know exactly how much time they’ll be spending with them. Brazilian outlet Legado da Marvel, which received all 8 episodes from Disney ahead of release, exclusively revealed the runtime of every installment, and the season clearly saves its biggest moments for the end.
According to the report, Episode 1 runs 53 minutes, followed by 45 minutes for Episode 2 and 52 minutes for Episode 3. Episode 4 clocks in at 48 minutes, Episode 5 at 46 minutes, and Episode 6 at 54 minutes.
The final stretch is where things really expand. Episode 7 runs 1 hour and 2 minutes, while the finale runs 1 hour and 8 minutes, bringing the season’s total to just over 7 hours. With no episode under 45 minutes, the series promises to dedicate plenty of time to Vision’s story. Taken together, the final 2 episodes are long enough to play like a feature film.
The runtime for all the episodes of ‘VISIONQUEST’ • Episode 1 — 53 minutes • Episode 2 — 45 minutes • Episode 3 — 52 minutes • Episode 4 — 48 minutes • Episode 5 — 46 minutes • Episode 6 — 54 minutes • Episode 7 — 1 hour & 2 minutes • Episode 8 — 1 hour & 8 minutes (via https://t.co/NUDlPMM6F7)

Those last 2 chapters also make some history. Both Episodes 7 and 8 break the 58-minute record set by ‘Hawkeye’, making them the longest MCU TV episodes ever. The show’s opening is notably generous, too. The first 2 episodes will screen at a gala event at the BFI London Film Festival on October 12, and the festival listing put the double premiere at a combined 97 minutes.
That’s the longest premiere of the trilogy by a clear margin. ‘WandaVision’ opened with roughly 71 minutes across its first 2 episodes, while ‘Agatha All Along’ debuted with 87 minutes.
Showrunner Terry Matalas, who previously ran ‘Star Trek: Picard’, has teased that each episode is very different and resembles a different type of movie, borrowing the playful structure that made ‘WandaVision’ a hit. With that kind of genre-hopping approach, longer runtimes give each chapter room to breathe.
The story also has a lot of ground to cover. Searching for new meaning, Vision consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including Friday, Edith, Jarvis, and Ultron, who appear in human form inside his internal “Mindspace.”

That world is brought to life by a large ensemble. Ruaridh Mollica plays Thomas Shepherd, James D’Arcy plays J.A.R.V.I.S., Orla Brady plays F.R.I.D.A.Y. and Emily Hampshire plays E.D.I.T.H., while Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer round out the cast.
For Bettany, the series feels like a long-overdue showcase. He has been part of the MCU since its very beginning, voicing Tony Stark’s AI assistant Jarvis in 2008’s ‘Iron Man’ before taking on the role of Vision in ‘Age of Ultron’.
After years of mostly playing a supporting role, Vision now gets his own story, and Marvel is clearly giving it the space it needs. Kevin Feige and Jac Schaeffer join Matalas as executive producers on the series. With the 2-episode premiere arriving on October 14, fans won’t have to wait long to see whether those record-breaking final chapters deliver a finale worthy of the trilogy.
