Marvel’s latest Disney+ series has introduced audiences to a fresh face. ‘VisionQuest’, which premiered on October 14, serves as the final chapter of the trilogy that began with ‘WandaVision’ and continued with ‘Agatha All Along’, with Paul Bettany returning as White Vision and James Spader back as Ultron under showrunner Terry Matalas.

Among the newcomers is Welsh actress Lauren Morais, who plays Lisa Molinari, a character closely connected to Ruaridh Mollica’s Thomas Shepherd. Previously seen in ‘Mudtown’, ‘The Red King’ and ‘The Crow Girl’, Morais has called the series a major step up in her career.

Interestingly, Morais didn’t grow up as a devoted MCU fan. Speaking to Decider, she explained that she only became a Marvel fan in the last year or 2, after her partner introduced her to ‘Agatha All Along’ and told her the witchy, campy series felt like a bit of her.

After falling in love with that show and its star Kathryn Hahn, she went back to watch ‘WandaVision’, essentially experiencing the story in reverse. She said that approach helped her appreciate the connections even more, and she soon became obsessed, going on to watch the latest ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘Thunderbolts*’.

Now Morais has revealed just how much one character means to her. As Cosmic Marvel highlighted, the actress told Decider that Agatha Harkness is her favorite MCU superhero. Morais explained that in her mind, Agatha is a superhero, describing the character as incredible and powerful. She also said she feels sorry for Agatha because of the grief surrounding her son, adding that she’s simply a big fan of ‘Agatha All Along’.

It’s an interesting choice, given that Agatha has often been portrayed as morally complicated. Still, Morais’ take reflects how many fans have come to sympathize with the character over the course of her journey.

Hahn’s Agatha was first introduced in ‘WandaVision’ as Wanda and Vision’s nosy neighbor Agnes before her true identity was revealed. Her popularity earned her a spinoff, ‘Agatha All Along’, which arrived in 2024.

In that series, Agatha joined a coven traveling the Witches’ Road and ultimately faced Death in battle alongside Billy Maximoff, sacrificing herself to save his life. In the comics, the character first appeared in ‘Fantastic Four’ #94. Agatha isn’t the only character on Morais’ list. She has also named Lady Death, Ms. Marvel and E.D.I.T.H. among her favorite MCU characters.

Fans have pointed out that 2 of her picks, Agatha and Lady Death, come from the same trilogy that ‘VisionQuest’ now concludes. That connection makes her enthusiasm feel especially fitting for an actress stepping into this corner of the MCU.

Morais’ comments have resonated with fans online, many of whom appreciated hearing an actor speak so openly about becoming a Marvel fan. Her journey from casual viewer to cast member gives her a unique perspective on the franchise.

Her character’s link to Thomas Shepherd also places her close to the story of Wanda and Vision’s family. Whether Lisa Molinari’s path will ever cross with Agatha’s remains to be seen, but Morais would clearly welcome the chance. For now, she has made it clear where her loyalty lies, and Agatha fans have gained a passionate new ally inside the MCU.
