Warrior is a martial arts crime drama series created by Jonathan Tropper based on the original concept created by Bruce Lee. The series Ah Sahm, an immigrant from China that finds himself in the middle of the Tong Wars as he searches for his sister, who also emigrated from china but several years prior. Ah Sahm is likewise an extremely talented martial artist and manages to rise to the top of Hop Wei tong, all in an effort to uncover what happened to his sister. The series originally aired on Cinemax for two seasons before being canceled. Luckily, dedicated fans managed to save the series from the dead, and it was picked up for a third season by HBO Max. We’ve decided to use this opportunity to bring you the potential release date, cast, and plot for the upcoming season 3 of Warrior. 

The release date for the upcoming third season of Warrior is currently unknown. The filming, however, was wrapped up in November of 2022, and the series is expected to air on HBO Max sometime in 2023. The main cast from season 2 will likewise appear in the third season, with Andrew Koji once again taking on the mantle of Ah Sahm. The events of the series will follow events that took place in season 2.

What is “Warrior” about? 

“Warrior” is a television series that first aired on Cinemax in April 2019. It is a martial arts drama set in late 19th-century San Francisco’s Chinatown. The show is loosely based on the writings of Bruce Lee and is centered around a martial artist named Ah Sahm, who immigrates to San Francisco from China and becomes embroiled in the city’s Chinatown tong wars.

As Ah Sahm navigates the complexities of his new home, he finds himself caught in the middle of a power struggle between rival tongs and the corrupt city authorities. With his exceptional fighting skills, he rises up the ranks of the Hop Wei tong while also trying to uncover the truth behind his sister’s disappearance and the motivations behind the tong wars.

The show combines elements of action, drama, and historical fiction. It is notable for its depiction of the Chinese immigrant experience and the politics of race and power in late 19th-century America. 

Warrior has been a highly successful series and one of the most-watched martial arts series of all time. Unfortunately, when Cinemax ceased all programming and original production, the series found itself in sort of limbo, with the possibility of the third season being put under question and the chances getting smaller by the day. 

After fans of the series started the petition at Change.org, reaching more than 68,000 signatures. The series was picked up for the second season by HBO Max. The streaming service ordered a ten-episode third season continuing where the second season has left off.

Warrior Season 3 plot details 

So far, the details regarding the third season of Warrior are not available in any official sense. We can, however, assume that the series will resolve the cliffhangers from season 2 and follow the events established in the prior seasons. Zing, the leader of the Fung Hai tong, appears to have escaped from prison, which will likely cause turmoil in the tong wars. The revelation that Ah Sahm is Mai Ling’s brother will have a significant impact on inter-tong politics. Mai Ling is blackmailing the mayor of San Francisco over knowledge of his past as a Confederate soldier, which will add to the conflict.

Warrior Season 3 trailer and release date 

At the time of writing this article, there is no official release date or trailer for the third season of Warrior. We do know, however, that the series will air sometime in 2023, according to HBO MAX’s slate of official series to debut on the platform in 2023. You can check out the video below.
