Watch Andrew Garfield’s Epic Reaction to ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Trailer
Andrew Garfield shared his first impressions of the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer, giving fans a peek at his reaction. The actor, known for playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man and its 2014 sequel, returned briefly as the superhero alongside Tobey Maguire in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Now, with Tom Holland leading the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man films, Garfield offered his take on the newest installment.
The trailer, which features stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal, Michael Mando, and Zabryna Guevara, was shown at the UK premiere of The Magic Faraway Tree, where Garfield was in attendance.
When asked if he had watched it, Garfield said, “I haven’t seen it yet with sound. I’ve seen it without sound, because I was in a makeup chair and I didn’t want to disturb everyone. But it looks cool. It was very, very cool.”

While Garfield is not expected to appear in Brand New Day, his reaction has already sparked fan speculation. He has previously denied any involvement in a third Amazing Spider-Man film and remained coy about possible cameos in Avengers: Secret Wars. Still, he has expressed interest in returning to the character under the right conditions.
“I would love to play the character again in some capacity, but I think it would have to be very weird,” he said. He added that any future role would require “something very unique and offbeat and surprising.”

Even though Garfield won’t be physically in the new film, Tom Holland has paid tribute to both him and Tobey Maguire. Holland revealed that his updated Spider-Man costume includes elements inspired by their original suits.
“The third movie was very much about paying respects to those guys,” Holland said. He explained that Peter looks up to the previous Spider-Men and notices little details in their suits, which influenced how he designs his own costume. “I really like the idea that he’s trying to be his big brothers, that he looks up to them and sees little details on their suits that he thinks are really cool,” Holland added.
Garfield’s comments and Holland’s homage highlight the ongoing connection between the Spider-Man actors across different generations. Fans are eagerly waiting to see how Brand New Day will honor the legacy of the franchise while introducing new stories in the MCU.
