Weird Wikipedia Entry Could Solve the ‘Thunderbolts’ Asterisk Mystery: Is a Trilogy on the Horizon?
Yesterday, news broke that ‘Thunderbolts’ has finished filming. The movie’s development faced challenges due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, which halted many projects and even led to some being canceled. Luckily, ‘Thunderbolts’ managed to recover and started filming in February this year.
Shortly after filming began, Florence Pugh accidentally revealed the new logo and title in a set video for fans, showing the title with an asterisk. At CinemaCon, Feige confirmed that ‘Thunderbolts*’ is the official title, but said the meaning of the asterisk will be revealed when the movie comes out.
Several theories have emerged about the meaning, but a strange Wikipedia entry on the ‘Thunderbolts*’ page might put these rumors to rest.
Disclaimer: Remember, Wikipedia is not an official source of information about the movie. While it often provides detailed and accurate information, it’s easy for anyone to edit, making it susceptible to hoaxes and pranks.
A text appeared on the page written in Cyrillic script and the Ukrainian language:
[Marvel плани на трилогія з 2025 до 2029 рік заплановано трилогія громоверців
It roughly translates to “Marvel has plans for a trilogy from 2025 to 2029″—native speakers, feel free to correct me in the comments.

The change was made in the early morning of June 13, Eastern European time, from an IP address based in Ukraine. The user’s edits are mostly related to various Marvel topics, and there aren’t many of them.
While this is most likely a prank or an attempt to edit Wikipedia without a confirmed source (aka fake news), there’s a chance it could be related to the asterisk and confirm rumors from a few weeks back.
The asterisk might signify “Pt. 1,” “Pt. 2,” etc., or act as a placeholder for a number. We theorize that ‘Thunderbolts*’ will be a series of movies instead of a standalone installment. Some fans had previously speculated that the movies were being filmed back-to-back, which seems unlikely given that Iger is drastically changing the direction of the MCU, aiming to invest only in sure hits after a disastrous box office year.
Several weeks ago, the Atlanta_filming Instagram account referred to the movie as ‘Thunderbolts* Part 1.’ The post was quickly removed, but it still raises questions.
What do you think?
