When Will ‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (Part TWO)’ Be Released?

Sony recently officially announced the title of the anticipated sequel to Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse – Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (Part One). Yep, part one. And that immediately confirmed that a threequel is also in development. This animated franchise kicked off with Into The Spider-Verse in 2018, and the sequel is set to be released in October 2022. But what about the threequel?
Now, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, co-writers and producers of the movie revealed for Entertainment Weekly that Across The Spider-Verse Part One and Part Two are being made together, so we won’t wait that long for Part Two. While Part One is coming in October 2022, Part Two will be released in 2023.
“Miles’ story is an epic. We wrote what we thought the story needed to be, and to our surprise we realized it was two movies instead of one. We’re working on them both as we speak. Part Two will be out sometime in 2023. We will sleep again in 2024.”
So, we have one animated Spider-Verse movie in 2022, one in 2023. And let’s not forget that Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman, voiced by Hailee Steinfeld, is also set to get her own spin-off. And with so many Spider-characters that will return, or debut, in the sequels, who knows how far this franchise could go.
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse was released in December 2018, and it received critical acclaim from both critics and the audience. In 2019, the movie won an Academy Award for the Best Animated Feature, breaking Disney’s long-term domination.
Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, & Justin K. Thompson, and starring Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld (who’s also portraying Kate Bishop in MCU series Hawkeye) as Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman, Jake Johnson as Peter Parker/Spider-Man from another dimension, Oscar Isaac as Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099, and Issa Rae as Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse will be released exclusively in movie theaters on October 7, 2022.
