Where does the Tokyo Revengers anime leave off in the manga?
If you haven’t read the manga alongside watching the Tokyo Revengers anime, you probably won’t know where the anime ends. Now, the anime had a total of 24 episodes and the last episode adapted a total of five chapters of the Tokyo Revengers manga. The chapters in question are 69, 70, 71, 72, and 73. This means that the anime officially ended with Chapter 73 of the manga and that the upcoming second season is going to continue from Chapter 74.
All of this happens right before the end of the Valhalla arc, which ended with Chapter 77 of the manga, so we assume that the first episode of the upcoming second season is going to wrap things up as far as the Valhalla arc is concerned.
How many arcs are there after the Valhalla arc?
And while it doesn’t seem like there’s much after the Valhalla arc, you have to know two things: first, Tokyo Revengers doesn’t have that many arcs to begin with, and second, the smaller number of arcs doesn’t imply that there is little content to enjoy. So, there are a total of three arcs after the Valhalla arc – Black Dragons arc, Tenjiku arc, and the Final arc, which is the current arc of the ongoing manga.
What happens after the Valhalla arc?
Back in the present, Takemichi rediscovers that the Tokyo Manji Gang has become a large criminal organization after having annexed the Black Dragons, and his friends are still dying. While traveling back in time, he learns that Hakkai Shiba is being coerced into abandoning the Tokyo Manji Gang and joining the Black Dragons, ordered around by his abusive brother and current leader of the Black Dragons, Taiju, an event that Tokyo relates to.
The Manji Gang merged with the Black Dragons organization. Mitsuya then makes a deal with Taiju that he will allow Hakkai to join on the condition that Yuzuha, the Shiba brothers’ sister, stop working for the Black Dragons and Taiju not be allowed to attack her. Before saying goodbye to them, Hakkai secretly tells Takemichi and Chifuyu that Taiju has no intention of keeping his promise and plans to kill him soon to free him and Yuzuha.
Takemichi then asks the Tokyo Manji Gang for assistance, but they refuse to intervene because breaking the deal would look bad on Mitsuya. However, he and Chifuyu reluctantly manage to get help from only Kisaki and Hanma. Together, they find out from Koko and Inupi, two members of the Black Dragons, that Hakkai plans to assassinate Taiju on December 24, 2005. On December 24, Takemichi confronts her, but he finds that Kisaki and Hanma have betrayed and abandoned him.
However, Chifuyu escapes and asks for Mitsuya’s help to defeat Taiju. After accidentally preventing Taiju’s death, Takemichi realizes that in the original timeline, Yuzuha killed him after being forced to do so by Kisaki, which later led to Hakkai taking the blame for her and being forced to follow its auctions.
Takemichi convinces Hakkai to oppose Taiju to save Yuzuha, and with the timely arrival of Mikey and Draken, the Black Dragons are defeated. After disbanding, Koko and Inupi bear the titles of co-leaders of the 11th Generation Black Dragons and approach the Tokyo Manji Gang as Takemichi’s direct subordinates.
After learning of Kisaki’s betrayal, Mikey removes him from their group. Mikey’s decision also causes Hanma and former members of Moebius and Valhalla to leave, reducing the Tokyo Manji Gang’s membership by 350 members. When Takemichi returns to the present, Tenjiku absorbed the Tokyo Manji Gang after an event known as the “Kanto Incident,” leaving Mikey so demoralized that he killed all of his friends. As Takemichi and Naoto investigate Tenjiku, both learn that Kisaki is part of Tenjiku and Shinichiro is the Black Dragons’ founder.
When members of Tenjiku ambush them, they are mortally wounded, and Takemichi travels back in time before they both die. Hinata overhears Takemichi crying over Naoto and saying that he was traveling back in time. Takemichi finds out that Tenjiku’s leader, Izana Kurokawa, is a distant relative of the Sanos. He harbors jealousy against Mikey, especially when Shinichiro plotted for Mikey to become the leader of the Black Dragons. In the middle of this, Mucho and his vice-captain have joined Sanzu Tenjiku, and Koko is forced to join them.
Impressed by Takemichi’s determination, Inupi relinquishes his title as the leader of the Black Dragons in favor of Takemichi and reveals to the Tokyo Manji Gang that Izana is planning an attack for the Black Dragons’ 11th anniversary on February 22, 2006. On the day of their planned fight, Takemichi loses the support of the other captains as Kisaki and Hanma seriously injure Mitsuya and Fourth Division Smiley. Also, Kisaki kills Mikey’s half-sister Emma, leaving Mikey and Draken distraught.
Despite this, Takemichi gathers the rest of the Tokyo Manji Gang to fight Tenjiku, with only 50 members fighting Tenjiku’s large number of 400 members. As the end of the fight approaches, Mikey and Draken come after learning from Hinata that Takemichi traveled back in time to save them. When the Tenjiku are forced to surrender, Kisaki shoots Kakucho and Izana, mortally wounding the latter, and flees.
When Takemichi confronts him, Kisaki confesses that his reason for taking over the Tokyo Manji Gang was to improve his social status and woo Hinata. He also considers Takemichi an enemy for stealing his attention and has Hinata killed in every current timeline for rejecting him. Kisaki is hit by a truck and dies in the middle of this.
After the Kanto incident, Hanma goes on the run while Mikey decides to disband the Tokyo Manji Gang so all of its members can move on. Takemichi returns to the present and finds that his friends are alive and well, but Mikey, who hasn’t been in contact with any of his friends for the past 12 years, has formed a new gang called Bonten. Takemichi can no longer time travel through Naoto, but when he stops Mikey from jumping off a building, he suddenly travels back in time ten years to 2008.
Takemichi is now in high school and has been studying ever since the Tokyo Manji Gang was disbanded; there is currently a power struggle between Rokuhara Tandai, Brahman, and Mikey’s new gang, the Kanto Manji Gang. Hoping to reach Mikey, Takemichi joins forces with Brahman, led by Senju Kawaragi, and suddenly develops the ability to see into the future.
On July 7, 2008, Rokuhara Tandai launched an attack on Takemichi and Senju. Takemichi prevents Senju’s death, but Draken is killed while protecting her. As a result, a fight known as the Battle of the Three Deities breaks out between the three gangs, ending with Mikey South, the leader of Rokuhara Tandai, committing suicide.
The Kanto Manji gang wins and absorbs Rokuhara Tandai; Meanwhile, Senju dissolves Brahman to stop Mikey from killing Takemichi. A month later, Takemichi recreated the Tokyo Manji Gang and challenged the Kanto Manji Gang to a fight on September 9.
