Where to Watch Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War? (Is It on Crunchyroll, Disney+, Netflix or Hulu?)
Tite Kubo’s Bleach series is one of the most important titles in the history of manga and anime, a title that has helped make anime and manga what it is today. And while the anime adaptation of Bleach ended rather abruptly with the Fullbringer Arc, we are finally going to see the infamous Thousand-Year Blood War adapted on screen in October 2022, and we cannot be happier. In this article, we are going to tell you where you can watch the Thousand-Year Blood War Arc online.
At this moment, it is not known where the Thousand-Year Blood War Arc will be streamed aside from TV Tokyo, a Japanese television channel. No streaming service has confirmed the streaming of Bleach‘s final arc and while Crunchyroll did seem like the most likely candidate, recent rumors suggest that Disney+ might have acquired the streaming rights, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
Bleach has been a fan-favorite anime for decades now and the upcoming Thousand-Year Blood War arc is one of the most anticipated upcoming series this Fall, with millions of fans around the world waiting for its premiere. In this article, we are going to give you the ultimate guide for watching this arc online.
Where to watch Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War?
As of August 2022, it is not known where the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime will be available for streaming. We know that the show will premiere on TV Tokyo in Japan, but who is going to stream the show outside of Japan is still unknown as of this moment. It was thought that Crunchyroll would offer the series on its service, but some recent rumors suggest that Disney+ might have acquired the streaming rights, which made a lot of fans unhappy. Be that as it may, we still have to wait for any form of official confirmation regarding the streaming of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.
Sadly, it seems that the anime won’t be available for streaming on any platform besides the two mentioned above, unless you’re In some specific parts of the world.
Is Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War available on Netflix?
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is probably not going to be available on Netflix, as far as we know, aside from – possibly – some specific Asian countries. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, neither in dubbed nor in subbed format, probably won’t be on Netflix; this shouldn’t come as a surprise, since Netflix doesn’t really invest in those anime series that have already been licensed by other streaming services. The reason for this is probably related to various licensing issues.
It might be a little disappointing that a leading network like Netflix won’t make Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War available for streaming, but we assume that it has to do something with the licensing and distribution rights, although we cannot be sure that that is the actual reason.
Netflix is doing a great job in providing its subscribers with great streaming content, but it does have some restrictions in general. So if you live in a country with geographic restrictions, you may not be able to watch some of the content on Netflix even with a full subscription. And yes, in case you were wondering, you can check directly on Netflix to see if your country is geographically restricted.
But, all of that probably won’t matter since Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War probably won’t be available on Netflix, regardless of where you are. If you want to watch the show, you’ll probably have to look elsewhere.
Is Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War available on Crunchyroll?
When anime is concerned, Crunchyroll is always the best candidate so Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War could easily end up on the service. Crunchyroll currently has all of the episodes that have aired as of the time of writing this article and we’ll just have to wait for a confirmation that they are going to stream Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War as well. Still, in light of the recent rumors that Disney has acquired the rights to Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, Crunchyroll might end up empty-handed. We’ll just have to wait for an official confirmation to be sure.
So, if you want to watch all of the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime episodes, Crunchyroll could quite possibly be your best choice.
Is Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War available on Disney+?
It is a known fact that Disney+ is generally very conservative when original content created by other studios is concerned, and anime is not just that, it is also direct competition for Disney, who takes pride in its original animated content. This is why Disney+ rarely offers any anime on the service. But, recent rumors suggest that Disney+ has acquired the streaming rights for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, which would be quite surprising. We’ll have to wait for a confirmation to see whether the rumors are false or true.
However, regardless of how things go with Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, if you prefer Western animation and maybe some other anime series (although the offer is quite limited), Disney+ will definitely have something for you.
One of these animated series is The Simpsons, which is still very popular with 33 seasons as of December 2021. Some other similar shows, both animated and live-action, that might attract your attention include Gravity Falls, The Mighty Ducks, and the Star Wars series, including the very popular The Mandalorian.
Is Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War available on Funimation?
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War probably won’t be available on Funimation either. The best dubbed-anime source in the US probably won’t offer this series to its subscribers, which is a bit surprising, but if Crunchyroll loses the streaming rights, Funimation won’t end up having it either.
One major issue with Funimation, in general, is that it is not available around the world, so if you hope to watch the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War series, you have to be aware that you can only access Funimation from a limited number of countries.
Is Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War available on Hulu?
At this moment, as things stand, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War probably won’t be available for streaming on Hulu, neither the subbed, nor the dubbed version of the series. Hulu is not one of the major players in the world of streaming, but nonetheless, it has a solid anime library, which is why it’s a bummer that Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War probably won’t be part of it.
Hulu is a streaming service that primarily offers live-action shows and movies, but, as we have said, there’s also a lot of anime, although Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War probably won’t be among the anime in Hulu’s library. Another big issue is that Hulu is not available around the world so there are certain restrictions if you don’t live in the United States.
As you can see, Hulu is not a good place to wait for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, as it probably won’t have it in its library, but it wouldn’t be your best pick even if it had it, since the location restrictions on Hulu are large and if you’re a non-US fan, you’d have a lot of trouble with Hulu.
Is Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War available on HBO Max?
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War almost certainly won’t be streamed on HBO Max either. Namely, the streaming service probably won’t acquire the rights to include the show among its titles, so if you’re a subscriber and have been looking to see the show, we don’t have any good news for you. HBO Max does have some anime series you can enjoy, but Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War probably won’t be there.
But, if you actually do have a free trial or an ongoing subscription to HBO Max, you can also watch other great anime shows, some of which are true classics that need to be watched regardless of whether you’re a fan or not.
Luckily, HBO Max has a truly great anime library so fans will definitely find something for themselves if they want to explore other shows aside from Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. Some other great anime on HBO Max include Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Death Note, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Re:ZERO.
Is Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War available on Amazon Prime?
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War probably won’t be available for streaming on Amazon Prime. This would be relatively strange as Amazon Prime has a solid slate of anime on its service, but from what we know at this point, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War won’t be on Amazon. This, sadly, also includes Amazon’s non-Prime pay-per-view library, which means that you won’t be able rent or buy the individual Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War episodes either.
Now, as we have said above, what surprised us the most is the fact that Amazon probably won’t even offer the anime episodes for purchase, as it does with a lot of other shows via its pay-per-view model (for example, One Piece or Black Clover). Such series cannot be streamed, but you can buy each episode individually and then own them, so you can watch them anytime you want.
One advantage of the rent or buy option on Amazon is the lack of restriction, either in time or location. Anywhere in the world, you can buy any available season or episode of a show, which is a good thing since some streaming services don’t offer their full slate for all countries. Once rented, you have only a limited amount of time to watch each episode for the same price, whereas with a purchased copy, you have unlimited time.
But, sadly, none of this will probably matter when Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is concerned, whether you’re an Amazon Prime member or not.
