‘White Lotus’ Season 4 Sets Its Sights on a Stunning New Destination
Season 4 of “The White Lotus” is set to take the hit HBO show to France, Variety has reported. While HBO hasn’t officially confirmed the location yet, sources say the production is already scouting luxurious spots in Paris and along the French Riviera.
The story will likely focus mainly on the South of France, similar to how Season 3 centered on Koh Samui with some scenes in Bangkok.
Paris will probably appear in a smaller subplot. At the moment, no hotels have been officially chosen, and filming isn’t expected to start until next year.
Previous seasons took place in Four Seasons hotels across Hawaii, Sicily, and Thailand, but Season 4 will change things up. HBO no longer has a marketing deal with Four Seasons, so the show will explore other luxury hotels.
In Paris, the production has looked at some famous hotels according to Variety. Le Lutetia, a five-star hotel on the Left Bank in the Saint-Germain des Pres area, is one option. Opened in 1910, the hotel has hosted famous guests like Charlie Chaplin, Pablo Picasso, and Ernest Hemingway. Another possible location is the Ritz Paris, which opened in 1898 and was popular with Coco Chanel, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Marcel Proust.
Mike White, the creator of “The White Lotus,” has teased the new season without giving away too much.
After the Season 3 finale, he said in an HBO clip package, “For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the crashing waves of rocks vernacular. But there’s always more room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels.” Some of the French Riviera spots that fit that description include Monaco and Nice.
Like previous seasons, the show will likely mix American and French actors. Some returning characters could appear, including Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge), Greg (Jon Gries), and Belinda (Natasha Rothwell). Fans might also see Charlotte LeBon, the French-Canadian actress who plays Chloé, return in Season 4.
