Why Does Tom Cruise Divorce Every Wife at 33? The Theory Is Bizarre

Tom Cruise has been married three times. His first marriage was to Mimi Rogers in 1987, but they split up just three years later in 1990. That same year, in December, he married Nicole Kidman.

At first, it might seem like Cruise just hasn’t had much luck in love. But internet users noticed something odd that connects all three of his marriages, each of his ex-wives was 33 years old when they divorced him.

The theory got even wilder when some fans linked it to Scientology, the religion Cruise is famously connected to.

According to SheKnows, the number 33 is considered meaningful in Scientology. L. Ron Hubbard, who founded the church, reportedly said that 33 “symbolizes a desire to enlighten others and guide them to their destiny.”

Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Cruise in 2012, and it was finalized just 11 days later. Reports at the time suggested she wanted to protect her daughter Suri from Scientology’s influence.

Nicole Kidman, Cruise’s second wife, once joked about her marriage after their split. When she appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman shortly after their divorce, the host asked how she was doing.

Smiling, she replied, “Well, I can wear heels now.” The audience laughed, clearly seeing the reference to Cruise’s well-known 5’7″ height. Kidman quickly added, “Let’s move on. Now we move on.”

During their 11 years together, Kidman and Cruise adopted two children, Isabella, now 32, and Connor, 30.

Kidman, meanwhile, recently made headlines after separating from her husband Keith Urban. The two share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

Whether the number 33 connection is just a coincidence or something deeper, fans can’t stop speculating, and the mystery only adds another twist to Tom Cruise’s already fascinating life.
