Winnie Holzman Could Be Teasing a Third ‘Wicked’ Movie

Wicked was one of last year’s biggest hits. The movie, starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, captured the hearts of audiences all over the world and became a smashing box office hit.

Of course, a sequel is in the works, and the fans are now eagerly awaiting the premiere of Wicked: For Good, which is set to conclude the story shown in the first film. And while the focus is on the second movie, we might be getting some hints at something even more interesting.

During a recent chat with the media, co-writer Winnie Holzman teased us with something very interesting!

So, before we get your hopes up, this is nothing precise and nothing official. Winnie Holzman was just asked about the possibility of a third movie, i.e., whether she, as a writer, had some ideas about a third movie, and she said: “Sort of. A little bit. Yeah, a little bit. Nothing real.”

As you can see, this doesn’t reveal much. The idea has obviously been discussed and there is additional material that could be adapted, but we don’t know whether a third movie will ever be made, at least at this point.

From a financial standpoint, Wicked has been a lucrative project, but it remains to be seen whether the studio and the writers will try to push another story after Wicked: For Good, especially in the same format as the duology.

What is interesting to note is that the future is definitely looking good, and with such talks happening, we might be in for some pleasant surprises!
