Last night, the Hollywood sky was transformed into a colossal battleground as a record-breaking drone show brought Godzilla and Kong to life in stunning detail. The event used over 3,000 drones to orchestrate the world’s tallest aerial display of fictional characters, reaching nearly 500 feet into the air above the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

The 12-minute spectacle featured the two Alpha Titans charging up for battle, complete with pyrodrones that mimicked Godzilla’s iconic atomic breath. Godzilla, Kong, and the new Titan X were ready for their close-up as they took over Los Angeles, organizers noted, emphasizing that the display was large enough to be seen from over three miles away.

The massive coordination of technology served as the ultimate “charge up” for the highly anticipated return of the MonsterVerse to the small screen. With the drones forming 3D recreations the size of three football fields, the show officially shattered the Guinness World Record for height in its category.

This literal “monster marketing” was attended by the stars of the series, including the father-son duo Kurt and Wyatt Russell. The event was set to a custom score by composer Leopold Ross, heightening the drama as the Titans loomed over the city’s historic landscape.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters officially returns for its second season on February 27, exclusively on Apple TV+. The new 10-episode season picks up after the explosive events of the first finale, shifting much of the action to the dangerous terrain of Skull Island.

The series continues to bridge the gap between multiple timelines, featuring the Russells as the older and younger versions of Colonel Lee Shaw. Returning cast members include Anna Sawai as Cate Randa, Kiersey Clemons as May, and Ren Watabe as Kentaro, all of whom are navigating the fallout of their journey into the Hollow Earth.

Season 2 introduces several new faces to the MonsterVerse, most notably Prey breakout star Amber Midthunder as Isabel, a powerful businesswoman with ties to the Titans. The cast also welcomes Takehiro Hira, Cliff Curtis, and Dominique Tipper as the mystery of the secretive Monarch organization deepens.

With multiple spinoffs in development and the cinematic universe expanding toward a March 2027 theatrical release, the “Age of Monsters” shows no signs of slowing down. Fans can expect a weekly rollout of the new season every Friday, culminating in a major finale on May 1.
