Xbox has announced a major price increase for its Game Pass Ultimate subscription, and fans are not happy.

The top-tier Ultimate plan is going up by 50 percent, now costing $29.99 a month, according to a recent announcement. Many subscribers are trying to cancel before their next payment hits, but the process hasn’t been easy.

As multiple users have shared online, the page to cancel Xbox Game Pass subscriptions keeps crashing. Even when the page does load, it runs very slowly, showing that a lot of people are leaving Game Pass after this sudden price hike.

Many users have commented that “the site keeps crashing for me”, which seems to be happening because the cancellation page is getting far more traffic than usual.

With a jump this big in subscription costs, it’s not surprising that so many people are trying to cancel at once.

To put this in perspective, Game Pass Ultimate will now cost $360 a year. That’s about $60 more than the launch price of the Xbox Series S. With hardware prices also rising, a console now costs less than a year of the subscription in some cases.

Game Pass used to be known for its affordability, making it a popular choice for gamers. But with gaming costs increasing across the board, and expensive hardware like the ROG Xbox Ally X priced at $999.99, many in the gaming community are questioning Xbox’s strategy. Some say it’s becoming confusing and inconsistent.

This sudden price hike will leave many gamers frustrated, especially long-time subscribers who relied on Game Pass for value. What do you think about Xbox’s move? Are you planning to stay or cancel? Share your thoughts in the comments.
