Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Shows Off His Superpowers in the New ‘Wonder Man’ Teaser Trailer
A new teaser trailer for Wonder Man is here, giving fans their first real look at Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, a struggling actor turned superhero. The upcoming Marvel Studios series is set to premiere on Disney+ on January 27, 2026, and will include eight episodes.
The show is created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, with Guest serving as showrunner. Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is also directing some episodes.
The series is produced by Marvel Studios along with Family Owned and Onyx Collective. It will be released under the “Marvel Spotlight” label, which focuses on stories that stand on their own without needing deep MCU knowledge.

Wonder Man follows Simon Williams, an actor trying to make a name for himself in Hollywood while also learning to deal with his newfound powers. Along the way, he crosses paths with Trevor Slattery, played by Ben Kingsley, the same character from Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi. The two actors compete for a role in a remake of a film about Wonder Man, a funny twist since Simon himself becomes that very hero.
Executive producer Brad Winderbaum said that Trevor Slattery’s role in the show has “a very interesting three-act structure” and described it as “very sincere, very earnest [and] not cynical.”
The series also stars Arian Moayed as a Department of Damage Control agent, X Mayo, Zlatko Burić as an eccentric film director named Von Kovak, Olivia Thirlby, and Byron Bowers. Demetrius Grosse appears as Simon’s brother, Eric Williams, also known as Grim Reaper, while Ed Harris plays Simon’s agent, Neal Saroyan. Other cast members include Lauren Glazier, Josh Gad, Joe Pantoliano, and several others in undisclosed roles.
Wonder Man will be part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, expanding the franchise with a story that blends Hollywood satire and superhero action in a fresh way.
