‘Yellowjackets’ Season 4 Gets First Trailer and Release Date for Its Final Chapter
‘Yellowjackets’ has become one of TV’s most addictive mysteries since its debut. Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, the series follows a high school girls’ soccer team that survives a 1996 plane crash in the remote northern wilderness and slowly descends into savage clans.
The show tells its story across 2 timelines, following the teens in the aftermath of the crash and the survivors nearly 25 years later. That blend of survival epic, psychological horror, and coming-of-age drama has made it a cult favorite.
Now the end is in sight. As Film Updates shared, the trailer for the final season of ‘Yellowjackets’ has been released, and the season premieres on November 20 on Paramount+.
Titled “The Savage Homecoming,” the 4th and final season shifts the story in a major way. According to Awards Radar, the horrors this time are no longer confined to the wilderness but follow the survivors home. The final season finally brings the team back from the woods. Collider notes that rescue means facing the people who knew them as daughters, classmates, and teammates.

According to the previously released synopsis, the survivors try to conceal what they did before help arrives. An old flame also returns with her own agenda, adding new tension to their homecoming.
Showtime renewed ‘Yellowjackets’ for a 4th season on May 20, 2025. In October 2025, it was announced that it would be the final season, with the creators saying they chose to end the story when it felt complete.
Filming began on March 2, 2026, and wrapped on July 27. Lyle and Nickerson return as showrunners, with Jonathan Lisco serving as an executive producer. Melanie Lynskey leads the adult cast as Shauna, alongside Tawny Cypress as Taissa and Christina Ricci as Misty. Hilary Swank returns as adult Melissa.

The main cast also includes Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, Nia Sondaya and Jenna Burgess. Sondaya and Burgess were both promoted to series regulars for the final season.
The last season adds a strong lineup of guest stars. June Squibb, Elijah Wood, Molly Ringwald, Devon Sawa, Sam Braun and Dulé Hill all appear. Ringwald plays Vicky Palmer, Squibb plays Geraldine, and Wood plays Walter Tattersall. Sawa appears as Howard, Hill plays Officer Rollins, and Ken Marino plays Russell.
The season premieres on Friday, November 20, on Paramount+ with the Premium plan. Wikipedia notes that it also airs on Showtime, with Paramount+ Premium subscribers getting episodes 2 days early. All 3 previous seasons are available on Paramount+. That gives fans plenty of time to catch up before the final chapter begins.
With the survivors back in civilization, the series is set to explore what happens when the secrets of the wilderness collide with the people waiting at home. After years of mysteries and theories, the final season promises answers.
