Zack Snyder has once again set the internet ablaze by dropping a stunning behind-the-scenes look at Ben Affleck’s Batman on Instagram.

The filmmaker, known for his distinct visual style, shared a black-and-white photograph that captures the “Batfleck” era in all its gritty glory. In the caption, Snyder provided the technical specifications that made the shot possible, writing, Wide lens. Dark knight. Leica MD, 28mm. F1.7.

The image has sparked a massive wave of nostalgia among fans of the “Snyderverse,” particularly those who championed Affleck’s portrayal of a weary, battle-hardened Bruce Wayne.

Fans were quick to flood the comments with requests to “restore the Snyderverse,” though Snyder appears to be using his recently created Instagram account more as a digital gallery for his personal photography.

He has been sharing several never-before-seen shots from his time in the DC Extended Universe, noting in a previous milestone post that he is only getting started with sharing his archive. Affleck himself has looked back fondly on the role recently, admitting that while the “damaged” Bruce Wayne was his favorite version to play, he is happy to see the character evolve for new generations.

Ben Affleck has been incredibly busy lately, both in front of and behind the camera. He is currently dominating the Netflix charts with the crime thriller The Rip, which premiered on January 16. Directed by Joe Carnahan, the film reunites Affleck with his longtime best friend Matt Damon. The two play Miami-Dade narcotics officers who find themselves in a morally treacherous situation after discovering a massive stash of cash during a raid.

Aside from his professional wins, Affleck has been a fixture in recent headlines for his personal life following his 2025 divorce from Jennifer Lopez. He has been seen spending time with his children and was recently spotted rooting for the New England Patriots ahead of Super Bowl LX. Despite the tabloid attention, the 53-year-old actor remains one of Hollywood’s most prolific forces, balancing big-budget action roles with a deep commitment to independent producing and directing.
