Zack Snyder Shares Fresh Batman Photo, Hints at More to Come
Zack Snyder is giving fans a peek behind the curtain of his films on Instagram. Since joining the platform a few months ago, he has been sharing behind-the-scenes photos from his past projects.
His latest post, however, has drawn the most attention: a Polaroid of Ben Affleck wearing the Batman suit.

The photo shows Affleck in his Batsuit during the early days of filming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Snyder shared the image with a caption quoting Affleck: “Shot this on my Leica Monochrom with a 50mm — more to come.” Fans of the DC universe say it’s a nostalgic reminder of the start of Affleck’s time as the Dark Knight.
Affleck first played Batman in Batman v Superman and later appeared in Suicide Squad and Justice League. His performance was widely praised, but the role came with challenges. Affleck has talked openly about his struggles during the filming of Justice League, calling it a difficult time.
Production on the 2017 movie changed when Snyder had to leave the project after the death of his daughter. Joss Whedon took over to finish the film. Reports later suggested there was tension on set, with creative clashes and difficult conditions. Critics also noticed Affleck sometimes looked disengaged, with Todd McCarthy from The Hollywood Reporter saying he “seemed like he’d rather be anywhere else.”
After Justice League, Affleck stepped away from both acting and directing The Batman. He said he couldn’t find the right version of the story and needed time for himself. Around that period, he also focused on recovery after seeking help for alcohol addiction.
