Zendaya Has Been Offered a Role in Rob Marshall’s ‘Guys and Dolls’ Remake, According to Rumor

Followers of musicals will likely remember the 1955 Oscar-nominated classic Guys and Dolls, directed by legendary Hollywood director Joseph L. Mankiewicz (Herman’s brother). The movie was a critical and commercial success at the time, and while it is not a top-tier musical, it is still a major classic.
Now, in an era when old movies are being remade, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that a remake of Guys and Dolls is currently in pre-production and while it is still in very early phases of development, we have an interesting rumor related to it.
Namely, according to a new rumor, the movie is aiming to land a major A-list actress as its star!
The rumor in question comes from DanielRPK via his Patreon account. As you know, DanielRPK is a popular Hollywood rumor mill who has a certain level of credibility, so we can generally trust his rumors, although we still have to take them with a grain of salt.
According to Richtman, Zendaya has been offered the main role in the movie and since she has experience with musicals, this could be a major moment for the production of the film if they actually manage to land Zendaya.
The 1955 original featured a stellar cast consisting of Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons, Frank Sinatra, and Vivian Blaine, so the remake is also quite ambitious in terms of its cast members, if the rumor is true.
The remake has been in the works for some time, but it officially entered pre-production in September 2024. Rob Marshall is set to direct after replacing Bill Condon as the director, and knowing his experience with such films, the Guys and Dolls remake has a lot of potential.
