Zendaya Seduces the Red Carpet in Her Own Wedding Dress, Reveals the Secret Behind ‘The Drama’ Premiere Look
Zendaya turned heads at the Los Angeles premiere of her new film, The Drama, by stepping out in a white gown she originally wore to the 2015 Academy Awards. The 29-year-old actress explained to Access Hollywood’s Zuri Hall that her choice was inspired by the film’s wedding-themed story and the idea of “something old, something borrowed, something new.”
“This something old is from a very important look in my red carpet history, but I wore this look to the Oscars when I was 18 years old,” Zendaya said. “It was a very important moment for myself, for my family, for my community and it just felt right to bring it back out and it happened to also be a wedding dress, so it was meant to be.”

Zendaya stars as Emma Harwood, a bookstore clerk from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, while Robert Pattinson plays her fiancé, Charlie Thompson, a British museum director. Other cast members include Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, Hailey Gates, Zoë Winters, and Anna Baryshnikov.
Zendaya also opened up about her thoughts on weddings and shared how much she enjoyed working with Pattinson on set. “It was really fun getting to explore this story with him,” she said, emphasizing the chemistry between their characters.
