The HBO series ‘Zmora’ is nearing the end of its run on HBO Max, and the finale is set to arrive on Friday, November 6. The season consists of just six episodes, each added to the library on a Friday, with the story closing in the first week of November. Viewers who have followed the crime drama from the start now have a firm date to mark.

The series centers on a reporter whose return home stirs up a mystery that never fully went away. HBO Max describes her as a disgraced journalist who comes back to her hometown to investigate the unsolved disappearance of a childhood friend. With the fifth episode scheduled for October 30, ‘Zmora’ has a good number of threads left to resolve in a single closing hour.

‘Zmora’ Episode 6 Release Date and Schedule

Episode guides place the sixth installment on November 6, and each episode runs roughly 43 minutes. That makes it the last chapter of a season that has kept to a steady weekly pace.

The first episode debuted on October 2, and the remaining episodes have followed every Friday since. The finale lands exactly five weeks after the premiere, which fits the rhythm the series has held from the beginning.

The season adds up to six episodes of about 45 minutes each, so watching everything takes less than five hours. Anyone who prefers to wait for the finale before starting can set aside a single evening and catch up in one sitting.

A specific release hour for the finale was not listed in the sources reviewed. The safest approach is to check the HBO Max app on Friday morning, since new episodes are added to the library on release day.

Where to Watch ‘Zmora’ on HBO Max

‘Zmora’ streams on HBO Max, which made the first episode available on October 2. The platform’s own promotion for the series stresses that new episodes arrive only on HBO Max.

The show is a Polish language production, and it is also listed under the English title ‘The Torment’, which can help when searching outside Poland. Availability does vary by region, and one Dutch listing notes that the season is not offered on US streaming services.

The rollout was carefully staged ahead of launch. HBO Max confirmed the October 2 premiere date on September 1 and released the official trailer on September 4. The series has since found an audience, and one Polish report calls it a hit for the service.

‘Zmora’ Story So Far Ahead of the Finale

The central mystery was set in motion before the series began. Kama’s arrival in her hometown coincides with the reopening of the case of Piotrek’s disappearance, in which she was a witness, and her thoughts return to a fateful night in 1994. That shared history is what keeps drawing her deeper into the investigation.

Commissioner Tomasz Korcz, played by Piotr Żurawski, is the officer who reopens the case, and Kama soon becomes involved in the inquiry. The narrative is not told in a straight line either, since the story moves between the present day and the 1980s and 1990s.

The third episode raised the personal stakes considerably. Kama studies the case files on Piotrek and confronts a lie of her own, while someone steers her toward the truth and her father makes a desperate move.

The fourth episode pushed the story further into family territory. A tragedy at home deepens her crisis, and new leads send her back to the summer of 1994 and to a personal loss, which raises the question of whether the life she knew was built on a lie. No official synopsis for the finale had surfaced in the sources reviewed, which leaves those questions to carry the final hour.

‘Zmora’ Cast and Creative Team

Magdalena Cielecka leads the ensemble as Kama Kossowska. Her co stars include Piotr Żurawski, Łukasz Simlat, Piotr Głowacki, Aleksander Krupa, Maria Pakulnis, Katarzyna Bujakiewicz, Piotr Jankowski and Dorota Kolak. Robert Gulaczyk and Oliwia Gołębiowska also appear in the series.

Behind the camera, Łukasz Jaworski directed the series, while Kacper Wysocki and Adam Guziński wrote the screenplay. Maciej Sobieraj is credited with the cinematography.

Opus TV produced the series on commission from TVN Warner Bros. Discovery. The producers are Łukasz Dzięcioł, Piotr Dzięcioł and Karolina Lachowska.

The material itself has local roots. The series is inspired by a crime novel from Robert Małecki, a writer born in Toruń, and the story unfolds in that same city. With Kama’s lie, her father’s desperate step and the summer of 1994 all still hanging over Toruń, do you expect the finale to confirm that the life she knew was built on a lie, or will the truth about Piotrek prove even harder for the town to accept?
