One of the characters we met during the early part of Record of Ragnarok was Adam, who Brunhilde unleashed as her trump card against the gods in the Ragnarok Tournament. Because of how strong Adam was, Zeus was forced to send himself out to battle the first-ever human being as he knew that the gods needed to make a statement by defeating the man arguably considered the strongest in the history of humankind. So, does Adam die in Record of Ragnarok?

Technically, Adam was already dead because he was in Heaven during the events of the Record of Ragnarok. However, after he was defeated by Zeus in the second round of the Ragnarok Tournament, his soul was sent to Nifhel, which meant that he was truly dead with no chance of reincarnation.

The fact that Adam was defeated in the second round of the tournament was a huge blow to mankind in the quest to defeat the gods in battle. Of course, Adam’s death meant that his soul no longer existed as he had been obliterated both body and soul when he died in the battle against Zeus. Now, with that said, let’s talk more about what happened to Adam in Record of Ragnarok.

Does Adam Die In the Record Of Ragnarok?

During the early part of Record of Ragnarok, it wasn’t a secret that the gods wanted to destroy humankind, and that was when the Valkyries proposed for a tournament to decide the fate of humanity. The Ragnarok Tournament was between 13 representatives on the sides of both gods and humankind. If the gods were to win, then they would be able to have a free hand in the annihilation of humanity. However, a victory for mankind would secure the continued survival of the human race.

Of course, in the first round, we saw how Thor was able to take down Lu Bu in what was a hard-fought battle for both of those fighters. Knowing that she needed to find a way to make the gods fear mankind in this tournament, the Valkyrie named Brunhilde, who was the one who proposed the tournament, decided to send out Adam in the second round.

Adam, as most of us are aware, was said to be the first human ever created by the gods. He was created in the image and likeness of gods, and that’s why humans were similar to the gods in terms of appearance. However, Adam and Eve were cast out of Heaven and sent to Earth, where humanity was allowed to thrive.

Not being able to resist the chance to fight the first human, Zeus decided to insert himself in the second round by taking Shiva’s place. He wanted to fight Adam so badly that he decided to be the one to defeat the first man ever created. So, does that mean that Adam died in Record of Ragnarok?

Technically speaking, all of the human participants in Record of Ragnarok are already dead because of the fact that they are in Heaven. The Valkyries use the souls of these humans as their Einherjar in the Ragnarok Tournament. As such, considering that he was in Heaven, Adam was already dead.

But if we are talking dead, as in getting defeated and killed in the tournament, then the answer is also “yes.” Adam was defeated in the Ragnarok Tournament in his fight against Zeus despite the fact that he was supposed to be Brunhilde’s trump card against the gods. Nevertheless, Zeus defeated him in a hard-fought battle that allowed the gods to go up 2-0 in the Ragnarok Tournament.

How Does Adam Die In the Record Of Ragnarok?

As mentioned, Brunhilde chose Adam to represent humanity in the second round of the Ragnarok Tournament. She meant for Adam to be her trump card against the gods due to the fact that he possessed something that no other human being possessed. We are talking about Divine Reflection.

Because Adam was the first human to be created in the image and likeness of the gods, he possessed Divine Reflection, which allowed him to evade an attack from a god while simultaneously countering with his own version of the same attack. And with his Divine Weapon, which was a pair of knuckle dusters, Adam was able to fight Zeus on par.

Zeus needed to use his full power against the original man because he knew that he had a tough fight on his hands. All of his attacks were countered by Adam, whose power was more than a match for the chairman of the gods. However, Zeus continued to pummel Adam with his most powerful moves while also entering his most powerful form so that he could defeat the original man.

Adam, of course, stood proudly and continued to use Divine Reflection against Zeus so that he could counter his every move. However, when Adam overloaded his eyes by constantly using his Divine Reflection ability, Zeus could find the opening he needed to land decisive blows. When blood got into his eyes, which were already overloaded and fatigued, Adam was basically fighting Zeus blind.

Still, he continued to defend himself while throwing out a few punches of his own because he didn’t want to lose in that fight against the chairman of the gods. In fact, Adam was so strong in that fight that even Ares himself commented that he wouldn’t stand a chance against him if he had been the one to represent the gods in that round.

However, as Zeus and Adam exchanged blows, the chairman of the gods announced that the fight was over and that he had won. The truth was that Adam had already died out of exhaustion a few moments ago but was so proud to admit defeat that his body continued to attack and defend. Adam died standing up as all of the creation paid their respects for a proud effort from the man arguably considered the strongest to ever live in the history of mankind.

Of course, Adam was already dead before the events of Record of Ragnarok. But after dying at the hands of Zeus, his soul was sent to Nifhel, which is basically oblivion in the world of Record of Ragnarok. Going to Nifhel means getting your soul destroyed without any chances of reincarnation. And that was what happened to Adam after he died, a proud man in his fight against Zeus.
