The third episode of ‘Black Clover’ second season arrives on Saturday, October 17, continuing the weekly Saturday schedule set by the premiere. Crunchyroll is streaming the new season as Studio Pierrot’s return to a story that ran for 170 episodes between 2017 and 2021.

With the second episode airing this weekend, the story is already deep inside the Spade Kingdom raid. This guide covers the release date, time, streaming options and what the available previews suggest about the next stretch of ‘Black Clover’.

‘Black Clover’ Third Episode Release Date

Crunchyroll lists the premiere on October 3, the second episode on October 10 and the third episode on October 17. Published schedules carry the same weekly pattern through the first twelve episodes, with the twelfth landing on December 19.

Those dates assume the season airs without a break. A delay of even one week would push every later episode back by a week.

The length of the season is still a point of disagreement. Weekly Shonen Jump reportedly confirmed twenty four episodes, while other reports put the count closer to twenty six. The season is split into two parts, and no release date has been announced for the second half.

Release Time Across Time Zones

In Japan the series airs on Saturdays at 11 p.m. JST. International viewers get the subtitled stream a few hours later, depending on region.

On Crunchyroll the episode goes live at 8 a.m. Pacific, 11 a.m. Eastern and 4 p.m. British time. That works out to 10 a.m. Central, 5 p.m. Central European and 8:30 p.m. in India.

Some regions change their clocks later this month, which can shift the local release time by an hour. Viewers in those areas should check their local listing the week before the third episode arrives.

Where to Watch ‘Black Clover’ Online

Crunchyroll is the only international home for the series, and the season was announced as a Crunchyroll exclusive at Anime Expo in 2025. An active subscription is required, and the platform carries the show in most regions outside Japan.

Japanese viewers can catch the broadcast on TV Tokyo. That makes the weekly rollout a simulcast for most of the world, with subtitled episodes arriving on the same day as the Japanese airing.

Dub fans will need to wait. An English dub is planned, but neither Crunchyroll nor Pierrot has given it a date. A simultaneous English dub release has not been confirmed.

Episode Preview and What the Story Sets Up

At the time of writing, the sources reviewed do not list an official title or synopsis for the third episode. Preview material has tended to appear ahead of airing, and details for the second episode were released on October 5, five days before it aired. That suggests the third episode preview could surface early in the coming week.

The second episode gives the clearest picture of where the story is heading. Its synopsis has Mereoleona facing a demon that appeared through Morris’s actions, while the infiltrating Magic Knights split into three groups to take on the Dark Triad. Charlotte faces Vanica, Yuno confronts Zenon, and Jack and Nacht fight Dante on equal terms before someone unexpected appears in front of Nacht.

One preview image also hints at a mysterious pair of new devils making their debut. As for how the season is landing so far, a reviewer at Anime News Network praised the premiere for its fights and art, and said it reintroduces the Yuno storyline, the Magic Knights and the war against the Dark Triad.

The creative team remains largely intact. Ayataka Tanemura returns as director, with Keiichiro Ochi on series composition and Minako Seki on music, and WANIMA performs the opening song. Tanemura has said the budget allowed the team to work comfortably and that the season will stay faithful to the source material to avoid filler. With so many simultaneous showdowns underway, which Spade Kingdom battle are you hoping the third episode of ‘Black Clover’ returns to first, and does Yuno’s rematch with Zenon or Nacht’s unexpected visitor have you more curious in the comments?
