‘Heavenly Delusion’: Who Is Aoshima & What Happens to Her?
As fans will know, Heavenly Delusion is a very peculiar series in so many ways. The story contains many known elements, but it still manages to create a uniquely special dystopia that has captured fans’ attention worldwide. Aside from the plot itself, Heavenly Delusion also offers us a series of interesting characters, and in this article, we will talk about one of them and explain their role in the story. The character in the spotlight is Aoshima, the nurse working at Takahasa Academy. In this article, we will talk about the very mysterious Takahara Academy nurse, who was shown to be a caring character. The article will reveal everything you need to know about Aoshima and her role in the story so far.
Aoshima is a supporting character from the Takagara Academy portion of the Heavenly Delusion manga and anime. Aoshima is a nurse working at Takahara Academy who is also a close collaborator of Dr. Sawatari. She seems to be caring but also unaware of all the background conspiracies within the Academy, especially those involving the director, who, at one point, surprisingly names her as her deputy, planning to actually transplant herself into her body later.
The rest of this article will be about Aoshima and her story in the Heavenly Delusion manga and anime series. We will introduce you to all the facts that are known about the nurse while, at the same time, not revealing too many spoilers from the manga, as the anime series has its own mysterious way of evolving, and we want to respect that. Still, if you’re not completely up-to-date with the events that have happened – so far – in the Heavenly Delusion manga, we have to warn you that the article is going to contain spoilers and that you might find out something you do not want to find out, so be careful.
Aoshima’s role is certainly going to become more important in the future
Fans of Heavenly Delusion will know that Takahara Academy is a mysterious and strange place. It is seemingly cut off from the outside world and implies that this is the Heaven the two protagonists seek. Whether that is true or not is something we won’t be revealing to you at this moment, as it is not our intention to spoil everything to you in this article. We suggest you take up the manga because it is really good and has a great storyline. Now, back to Aoshima and her role in the story.
Takahara Academy is a very special educational institution that actually employs more medical and scientific experts than academic staff (the teacher is, in fact, a robot). Among those employed by the academy is a nurse called Aoshima, whose mother, Misaka Imanaga, was the principal benefactor of the Academy and its Heaven project when it all started back in 1995. Whether Aoshima received her position thanks to her mother or her actual skills is unknown.
What is known about Aoshima is that she seems to be a skilled nurse and also a very caring person who genuinely cares for the children in the Academy, which is more than what can be said about many of her colleagues. She also has a very close working relationship with Dr. Sawatari, who seems to respect her as well, but some tensions will arise between them later. It is currently unknown whether there are any emotions involved between the two of them at this time.
Now, while Aoshima was present from the start, her role in the series increased only recently, as Director Shino named her new deputy director. This was a shocking moment as no one really expected Aoshima to become deputy, primarily because she was younger than Dr. Sawatari and another woman, who was also named as a potential candidate. Director Shino did not explain it.
She just announced it and ignored the anger of those present. It was implied that she got the position because of her connections, but a more sinister truth was soon revealed, a truth that had something to do with the aging Director Shino.
Namely, when Dr. Sawatari was alone with Director Shino, she revealed her intention of transplanting her mind into Tokio’s child, which Dr. Sawatari disagreed with because the child would have to be more than ten years old, implying that Director Shino, due to her age and her medical status, won’t survive that long.
This made Shino furious, and she almost died out of anger, but she managed to calm down and then coldly stated that she would then simply transplant herself into Aoshima until Tokio’s child was old enough, stating that by accepting her new position. Aoshima automatically agreed to be Shino’s new body (which she did not, but Shino was a ruthless person).
Ultimately, Dr. Sawatari and Aoshima were seen plotting to get rid of Director Shino, but Dr. Sawatari backed out in the final moment, leaving the scene on a cliffhanger. Her future is currently unknown, but based on what we’ve seen, Aoshima will certainly play a larger role in the series’ upcoming episodes.
And this is Aoshima’s story from the series so far. We must reiterate that this is just a part of her story and that Aoshima will seemingly play an important role in the series and in understanding what happens later; she also has a close connection to Tokio’s children and Dr. Sawatari, but we won’t be giving out too many details here.
You must understand, at this point, that Aoshima is very important, that the reasons behind her being an important part of the story will be revealed later, and that they are quite important for both her and the evolution of the plot.
