The Rising of the Shield Hero is a popular dark fantasy and isekai novel series that was later adapted into a light novel series, a manga series, and – of course – an anime series. As in all isekai series, a pretty average Japanese youth, Naofumi Iwatani, was summoned to a fantasy world where he suddenly received powers and became known as the Shield Hero. As of the time of writing this article, The Rising of the Shield Hero series is still ongoing and consists of a total of three seasons , which have a total of 50 episodes as of January, 2024. The first season of the series, which aired in 2019, had 25 episodes; the second, which aired in 2022, had 13 episodes; the third season had 12 episodes. The series will probably be continued later, so there will be more episodes in the future.

2. The Rising of the Shield Hero, Season 2 (anime, 2022) – 13 episodes
The second season of The Rising of the Shield Hero aired from April 6, 2022, to June 29, 2022, and it had a total of 13 episodes, which was a significant reduction.
3. The Rising of the Shield Hero, Season 3 (anime, 2023) – 12 episodes
The third season of The Rising of the Shield Hero premiered on October 6, 2023, and ended on December 22nd, 2023. Consisting of 12 episodes, the third season was the shortest one to date.
Where to watch The Rising of the Shield Hero episodes?
If you want to watch the whole The Rising of the Shield Hero series, you will have a fairly easy job doing that. The only place where you can watch The Rising of the Shield Hero on a regular basis is Crunchyroll. Crunchyroll offers the series regularly through simulcast, but you’ll have to watch it in Japanese, with English subtitles. Other streaming services might offer The Rising of the Shield Hero as well (like Hulu – currently only the first two seasons), but the episodes are not updated regularly, so you won’t be able to watch the latest ones. Also, do remember that Crunchyroll does not offer The Rising of the Shield Hero episodes in every region of the world.
Will there be more The Rising of the Shield Hero episodes?
As of the time of writing no announcements have been made regarding The Rising of Shield Hero Season 4. But, aside from that, the third season did not adapt the whole story, so we can expect more episodes and seasons in the future.
