‘Percy Jackson’ is a young adult fantasy work, and as such, it has plenty of major and minor characters. Despite featuring some of the most notable gods and demigods and some of the most exciting adventures and stories known to mankind, romance does happen as it’s a natural thing in a young adult’s life. Today, we’re going to discuss a romance between two minor characters in the ‘Percy Jackson’ franchise, Nico di Angelo and Will Solace, but before we explain it, let’s see whether they get together in the first place.

  • Article Breakdown:
  • Nico di Angelo and Will Solace do get together, and the two start dating sometime between the events of ‘The Blood of Olympus’ and ‘The Hidden Oracle.’
  • Nico’s love interest was at first Percy Jackson but his attention shifted to Will when he helped him out with healing.
  • Over the course of the stories, Nico’s and Will’s relationship grows, and the two even plan a future together; they eventually discover that they can combine their powers the more they love each other.

Nico was at first interested in Percy Jackson

When Nico first arrived at the camp Half-Blood, he was a truly grim individual due to being the son of Hades and due to his connection to the Underworld. Her relationship to the majority of the characters was antagonistic including Percy, but by the end of the fourth book in the series, Nicko starts confiding in Percy regarding his insecurities and struggles and his complex emotions.

In ‘The Last Olympian,’ Nico confesses to Percy that he has a crush on him, but he also states that he is aware that it’s going to lead nowhere due to Percy not reciprocating the feelings. Luckily, Nico moved fairly quickly to another, more promising love interest.

Nico and Will are complete opposites

As far as personalities go, Nico and Will are complete opposites due to Nico being grim and pessimistic and Will being overall cheerful and positive. Will really doesn’t get along with Nico from the start once again due to Nico’s connection to the underworld and the fact that Will heals people as the son of Apollo while Nico comes from the place where the dead go. But Will eventually realizes that the Underworld can also present hope and be a place of life and death in the darkness at the same time. They two bonded when Nico proved to be indispensable, and despite his natural inclination to represent death, he healed people.

When did Nico and Will get together?

Certainly! Here’s a detailed summary of Nico di Angelo and Will Solace’s relationship in Rick Riordan’s books:

Nico and Will’s relationship is first explored in ‘The Blood of Olympus.’ Prior to this, there were no indications of a romantic relationship between them. When Nico arrives at Camp Half-Blood, he is surprised to find Will planning to stall the Roman camp. Will explains that he needed fresh air after assisting Mellie in delivering a satyr baby. During this conversation, Will holds Nico’s hand, and the physical contact sends a shiver down Nico’s spine. Will notices Nico’s reaction and urges him to stop using shadow traveling, showing concern for his well-being as a doctor.

As they work together to prevent onagers from firing on Camp Half-Blood, Nico expresses his intention to leave both Camp Jupiter and Camp Half-Blood. This upsets Will, who demands an explanation and emphasizes that Nico has friends who care about him. Will even asks for Nico’s company in the infirmary, hinting at a desire for more time together.

Later, when Nico confesses his feelings to Percy Jackson, he walks away towards Will, symbolically choosing him over Percy. Nico reflects on his attraction to Will, noting how Thalia once called Will “hot” during their first meeting. In ‘The Hidden Oracle,’ it is revealed that Nico and Will start dating after Gaea’s defeat, and Will refers to Nico as his boyfriend.

In ‘The Tower of Nero,’ Nico and Will’s romantic relationship continues, and they discuss a potential date in Paris. Will supports Nico’s dangerous plan to go to Tartarus for a Titan friend, proving their commitment to each other.

During ‘The Sun and the Star,’ it’s revealed that Will developed feelings for Nico during the week Nico spent helping him in the infirmary after the Battle of Half-Blood Hill.

Do Nico and Will ever kiss?

While the books never went into details regarding the physical aspect of their relationship, the two certainly kiss at some point, considering that they spent a lot of time being together and the two even plan for a solid future. If you’re looking for an explicit official detail regarding the kiss, I’m afraid you’re going to fall short. But, it’s natural for couples to kiss, especially for couples with strong connections as Will and Nico.

What is the name of Nico & Will Ship?

The official name of Nico’s and Will’s ship is “Solangelo,” which is pieced together from their last names. “Solangelo” ship is extremely popular in the ‘Percy Jackson’ fandom and we can confirm that the two are among the most popular LGBT characters in the franchise.
