Tragedy strikes on the opening night, resulting in the death of 15 tour-goers and staff due to an unknown “malfunction.” No one expected the ‘Hell House LLC’ to be the beginning of a highly popular franchise that is still going strong, and due to the popularity of the movie, we decided to bring you this comprehensive watch order of the entire franchise.

All 4 ‘Hell House’ movies in release date order

The first ‘Hell House’ movie was released in 2015, and it was a success, as far as the critics go. The cast, premise, and cinematography were praised, and over the course of 4 years, two additional installments were released, and 4 years after, a spinoff was released as well. The ‘Hell House’ franchise overall consists of 4 movies, with three being a part of the original trilogy and the latest movie being a spinoff.

  1. ‘Hell House LLC’ (2015)
  2. ‘Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel’ (2018)
  3. ‘Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire’ (2019)
  4. ‘Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor’ (2023)

Are all ‘Hell House’ movies connected? What’s the best way to watch them?

All ‘Hell House’ movies are connected and build on the same premise established in the first movie. The first movie introduces the Hell House, and the sequel continues the story and tries to explore the aftermath of the events of the first movie. The third movie in the trilogy continues to unravel the mysteries surrounding the Hell House and the Abaddon Hotel, this time with a focus on a new haunted attraction. The spinoff movie ‘Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor,’ serves as both a prequel and the sequel to the original trilogy. In any case, the best order to watch the movies appears to be release date order.

All 4 ‘Hell House’ movies in chronological order

Despite ‘Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor’ being a prequel, we recommend that you watch at least the first movie before you jump into the spinoff. The best-case scenario is that you watch all three movies first and then jump into the spinoff; however, if you’re discouraged by the bad reviews online, ‘Hell House LLC’ and ‘Carmichael Manor’ makes for an enjoyable viewing experience. Besides, if you watch ‘Carmichael Manor’ before watching the first movie, most of the things seen on the screen won’t make all that much sense, and you won’t understand some of the references. The best viewing order in that case would be:

  1. ‘Hell House LLC’ (2015)
  2. ‘Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor’ (2023)
  3. ‘Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel’ (2018)
  4. ‘Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire’ (2019)

1.’Hell House LLC’ (2015)

In the aftermath of a tragedy at Hell House, where 15 people lost their lives due to an “unknown malfunction,” a documentary crew led by producer Diane Graves investigates the incident. They uncover rumors of supernatural involvement and interview Sara Havel, the lone survivor from the Hell House staff. Sara provides footage documenting the lead-up to the tragedy at the Abaddon Hotel, revealing unexplainable events and hints of a Satanic cult history. Despite the disturbances, the Hell House company dismisses the ominous signs and proceeds with opening the haunted attraction, leading to a nightmarish encounter with supernatural entities that results in the death of 15 people.

2. ‘Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor’ (2023)

A team of cold case investigators checks into Carmichael Manor, but after four nights, they mysteriously vanish without a trace. The footage recovered from their stay proves to be even more disturbing than the unsettling content found on the Hell House tapes.

3. ‘Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel’ (2018)

The film opens with Wendy Mallet recounting the tragic disappearance of her son, Jackson, who entered the abandoned Abaddon Hotel over a year ago and never returned. A distressing video shows Jackson desperately running through the hotel, experiencing a mental breakdown, and being approached by a cult follower.

4. ‘Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire’ (2019)

The film is presented in a documentary style, following wealthy entrepreneur Russell Wynn’s endeavor to use the infamous Abaddon Hotel for an immersive theater experience named “Insomnia,” based on the Faust legend. Despite being aware of the location’s dark history and numerous warnings about ongoing supernatural events, Russell remains determined to proceed. The documentary team delves into Russell’s past and the prior incidents, discovering footage suggesting Russell’s involvement or monitoring of the events.
