Sometimes it’s hard to define what makes a somewhat skilled player, and sometimes it can be pretty straightforward. When it comes to online games like shooters, Call of Duty in particular, we can track statistics across a large pool of players, and we can pull out some interesting numbers. One of the most important stats when it comes to Call of Duty is the K/D ratio, and although it doesn’t always reflect the quality of your play, it can be a pretty good indicator of how bad or good you are. Due that we’ve decided to dedicate today’s guide to studying the numbers related to Warzone and COD mobile. Let’s see what the average K/D ratio in Call of Duty is.

  • Article Breakdown:
  • The average K/D in Call of Duty is between 0.92 and 0.96. Players who manage to consistently attain a K/D higher than 1.5 are considered to be quite skilled since they are attaining more kills than deaths.
  • When it comes to Call of Duty mobile, an average K/D ratio seems to be a bit higher, standing between 1.50 and 1.90.

K/D is the standard but it doesn’t always reflect true skills

The kill/death ratio is a standard measurement used to assess the player’s overall success during a match. It’s most commonly used in online shooters and MOBAs, where it can be quite accurate measurement of how much the player contributes to the overall stats in the game. Likewise, when it comes to games with different roles, K/D might look quite different. In games that have supporting roles, we’re talking about the KDA ratio (kills + assists / deaths). It’s expected that the player in a supporting role will have fewer kills, more deaths, and overall the highest number of assists.

When it comes to games such as Call of Duty Warzone, however, your average K/D ratio is a standard for assessment.

If your K/D ratio is 1 it means that you die once for every player that you manage to take down. Having a K/D less than 1 means that you die more than you kill, and the opposite is true as well if your K/D is more than 1, you have more kills than deaths.

It sounds quite simple in theory but rarely does your average player consistently maintain a K/D higher than 1, and in the rest of this post, we’re going to see the exact numbers.

What is the average K/D in Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Mobile?

Average Call of Duty: Warzone K/D stands between 0.92 and 0.96. As you can see, the majority of Warzone players die more than they kill. It’s to be expected since the game is highly competitive, with numerous different modes to take into account. This is according to the stats provided by James – JGOD that present the data with an accompanying visual graph so you can see the overall distribution of K/D ratios.

When it comes to Call of Duty mobile, the average K/D seems to be between 1.50 – 1.90, but as many players point out, it might be due to widespread access to cheats and other circumstances that make the higher K/D ratio more attainable.

For players that have under-average K/D, it’s likely that you lack skills or you simply started to play the game relatively recently, and you’re still trying to make sense of the mechanics, and you’re getting used to the pace of the gameplay. However, there’s another side to this story, and low K/D might not always mean that you suck at Call of Duty.

Here’s why bad K/D sometimes doesn’t matter

Even though players often use K/D for bragging purposes or to put someone down, your K/D might not necessarily mean that you are bad or good at a certain game. Each game that revolves around fulfilling certain objectives means that in order to win, someone has to do the hard work. While other players are collecting the kills (or deaths), you have to run from point A to point B, making sure that goals are fulfilled. Being a team player often means that you will not be able to acquire as many kills as other players who take on a more selfish approach to “winning the match.”

There’s more to winning a match with your team than holing up somewhere inaccessible with the best overview of the general area and sniping everyone. This is why when everything is said and done, you need to take into account the overall contribution a certain member made when it comes to winning.

K/D ratio is generally a one-dimensional approach to the calculation of a player’s skills. But it’s usually pretty accurate. Luckily if you’ve just started to play the game, and you find yourself sporting 0.60 K/D, don’t despair, as things will likely improve in the future when you learn to play the game properly and understand the mechanics better. But take into account that it might take a bit longer to recover from a streak of bad games, and your K/D might be slightly lower, even after your skills improve.

To summarize

We’ve learned today that an average Warzone player dies more than he kills, considering that the average K/D seems to be less than one, more precisely between 0.92-0.96. Having a K/D higher than that puts you into a range of skilled players who manage to dish out more damage than they received.
