Kathryn Hahn Shares Insights on Scarlet Witch’s MCU Fate—Fans May Be Disappointed

With only a few days left until the release of Agatha All Along, fans are eagerly anticipating the return of Agatha Harkness. After escaping Wanda’s imprisonment, Agatha will come back powerless and must embark on the Witches Road with her new coven to regain her abilities.

The show boasts an intriguing premise and a remarkable cast, including Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, Joe Locke as Billy Kaplan, and Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer Kale. Ali Ahn will portray Alice Wu-Gulliver, while Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, and Okwui Okpokwasili will take on yet-to-be-revealed roles. Debra Jo Rupp, Patti LuPone, and Aubrey Plaza are also set to appear as Sharon Davis, Lilia Calderu, and Rio Vidal/Green Witch, respectively.

Considering that Agatha All Along is part of a trilogy with WandaVision and the upcoming Vision show, fans hoped Scarlet Witch might make a return given the witchcraft themes. Additionally, Joe Locke’s character has been confirmed as Billy Kaplan, aka Wiccan, Wanda’s reincarnated son in the comics.

After Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the consensus was that Wanda was dead, having sacrificed herself by collapsing the temple and destroying all copies of the Darkhold. The Darkhold recently appeared in a promo teaser for the show, seen in what looks like a crib.

Despite Wanda’s apparent death, many fans found it hard to believe that such a powerful character, who confronted Thanos bravely, could die so simply. There are rumors of her return in a solo movie or possibly in the Vision show.

Kathryn Hahn recently confirmed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that, to her knowledge, Scarlet Witch is indeed dead in the MCU.

Fans astutely noted that Wanda’s body was never shown, and characters often come back to life in comics. Wanda could return through various means, such as the Witches Road or as a variant, so there’s still hope for her comeback.
