Back when ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey’ was released and promptly got decimated with bad reviews, no one anticipated that it was going to earn a ton of money and kickstart a massive cinematic franchise that aims to destroy your childhood memories. But alas, we are here and preparing for the latest installment in ‘Poohniverse’ officially known as ‘The Twisted Childhood Universe.’

‘Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare,’ landed on January 13 in the United States, but will be released in the UK on February 24th. This is an origin story for one of the major villains to appear in the franchise’s crossover movie ‘Monsters Assemble.’

It is also the third film in ‘The Twisted Childhood Universe’ (TCU) and offers a horror twist on the classic ‘Peter Pan’ story. Starring Martin Portlock as Peter Pan and Megan Placito as Wendy Darling, the film follows Wendy on a mission to rescue her brother Michael, who has been kidnapped by Peter Pan and Tinker Bell.

Now, the opening scene for the movie has been released and it might just sway you to check out the movie:

The movie has a few reviews so far and they are generally mixed. Critics praise the movie’s gruesome practical effects, stylish visuals, and its bold, dark twist on the classic story.

However, the film struggles with uneven pacing, weak character development, and a lack of whimsy or humor, making it feel overly serious. While some found it scary and impactful, others saw it as mean-spirited and too straightforward. Fans of brutal reimaginings may enjoy it, but those seeking fun or a lighter tone might be disappointed.
