Writer Jed MacKay Talks ‘Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu’ #9 – A New Chapter Begins
Marvel fans are in for an exciting time as ‘Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu’ #9 sets the stage for a big milestone in the Moon Knight series. Written by Jed MacKay, this issue is not just any chapter. It’s a key turning point in Marc Spector’s story, leading up to the landmark 250th issue.
This year marks fifty years since Moon Knight made his debut. To celebrate, Marvel is bringing back some familiar faces from the past. This includes not just Marc Spector but also his other identities, Jake Lockley and Steven Grant. These returns might make things more complicated and dangerous for the hero.
Moon Knight faces a new threat: Achilles Fairchild. Fairchild is not just any villain. He’s from Asgard and doesn’t see Moon Knight as a personal rival, just as an obstacle.
Writer Jed MacKay explains, “Fairchild represents a different kind of threat than the ones that Moon Knight has dealt with so far in this book – it’s not personal for him, it’s just business.”

The series artist, Devmalya Pramanik, brings Achilles Fairchild to life with bold and intense visuals. MacKay appreciates Pramanik’s work, saying, “Dev’s been fantastic – he’s always looking to push his work and the book to make every punch land harder.”
The upcoming issue #10 will be the 250th Moon Knight comic, a huge milestone for the character. MacKay feels grateful for the support from fans, saying, “#50 is a milestone you rarely get to hit in this business, let alone with Moon Knight.” The issue will see the Midnight Mission gang face off against Fairchild and his crew in a thrilling showdown.
