A new behind-the-scenes photo of Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin has just dropped, and it’s got Marvel fans buzzing. The image, shared by D’Onofrio himself on social media, shows him in Kingpin’s signature white suit, but what really grabbed everyone’s attention were his hands. They’re covered in blood, hinting at some seriously violent moments ahead in Daredevil: Born Again.

It’s not totally clear whether this photo is from Season 1 or the upcoming Season 2, but either way, it adds fuel to the idea that things are about to get darker and more intense. Fans already saw signs of a more brutal direction when Season 1 ended.

Kingpin finally stopped pretending he was just a businessman. He fully embraced being the brutal criminal everyone feared. At the same time, Daredevil realized he couldn’t fight back alone and would need help to take on Kingpin’s AVTF forces.

Even though Marvel hasn’t confirmed where exactly this new shot fits in, the vibes are strong that Season 2 is going to raise the stakes. With blood on his hands, literally, it looks like Kingpin is going to be more violent than ever.

Behind the camera, things are changing too. According to industry sources like The Hollywood Reporter, Season 2 will only have eight episodes and is being run by Dario Scardapane.

Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead are back as directors and executive producers, while new directors like Solvan Naim, Iain B. MacDonald, and Angela Barnes (who worked on Ironheart) have joined the team.

Filming started in late February 2025, and it’s been happening all around New York City, from Brooklyn to Manhattan. The show is being filmed under the working title Out the Kitchen 2. Charlie Cox has already been spotted in his full Daredevil costume, and Wilson Bethel is also back on set.

If everything goes as planned, Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is set to premiere in March 2026 as part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans are already talking about what’s next for Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, especially after everything that went down in Season 1. With fewer episodes and what looks like a tighter production, this next chapter could end up being even more explosive than the last.
