‘Fantastic Four’ Star Ebon Moss-Bachrach Says He’d Use Superpowers to Launch Fascists Into Space
The new Fantastic Four: First Steps movie made a big splash both in terms of box office and critical acclaim. It was released in the U.S. on July 25, kicking off Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Critics mostly liked the film, and it has already earned $227 million worldwide. A sequel is already in the works.
The movie stars a big group of talented actors, including Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn as the Fantastic Four. Other well-known actors like Julia Garner, Sarah Niles, Mark Gatiss, Natasha Lyonne, Paul Walter Hauser, and Ralph Ineson also appear.
The story is set in a 1960s retro-futuristic world where the Fantastic Four must protect Earth from Galactus, a cosmic giant who threatens to devour the planet.
Recently, the cast sat down with IMDb for a fun interview where they answered different questions about the film and their characters. When Ebon Moss-Bachrach was asked what he would do if he had the superpowers of his character, The Thing, he didn’t hesitate.
“There’s a handful of fascists that I would just throw into outer space,” Ebon said.

Ebon’s comment shows how strongly he feels about standing up against fascism. He isn’t alone among the cast when it comes to speaking about social issues. Pedro Pascal, for example, has been open about supporting LGBT rights, especially because he has a transgender sibling.
Ebon’s words carry real meaning beyond just talk. His father was born in Germany to Jewish-American parents, so Ebon comes from a family with a strong history connected to fighting hate and oppression. In the movie, his character Ben Grimm (The Thing) is also Jewish.
There’s a scene where Ben enters a synagogue to meet Rachel Rozman, played by Natasha Lyonne, who is Jewish both on screen and in real life.
This connection adds depth to Ebon’s statement and shows how important these issues are to him personally. The cast of Fantastic Four: First Steps isn’t just about action and adventure, they’re using their voices to speak out on real-world topics too.
