The movie was shot on 35mm film by Linus Sandgren, marking his first time working with Baumbach. Editing is handled by Valerio Bonelli. Nicholas Britell, known for his rich and emotional scores, is set to compose the music, adding another layer of depth to the film.
Jay Kelly is scheduled to premiere at the prestigious 82nd Venice International Film Festival on August 28, 2025, where it will compete for the Golden Lion award. After its festival debut, the film will open in select theaters on November 14, 2025, before becoming available worldwide on Netflix starting December 5.
