A new political thriller movie called A House of Dynamite is coming soon. Kathryn Bigelow is directing the film, and it’s her first movie since Detroit in 2017. Noah Oppenheim wrote the script. The story focuses on a group of White House officials who have to act fast when the U.S. faces an incoming missile attack.

The movie has a big cast, including Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Gabriel Basso, Jared Harris, Tracy Letts, Anthony Ramos, Moses Ingram, Greta Lee, Jason Clarke, and several others.

Recently, the first look of Rebecca Ferguson in the film was revealed by La Biennale di Venezia on X. She plays a government agent named Olivia Walker, seen working urgently in a command center with maps and data flashing behind her.

The film is set to premiere at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival on September 2, where it will compete for the Golden Lion award. After the festival, it will have a limited theater release in the United States in October 2025. The movie will then be available to watch worldwide on Netflix starting October 24.

The casting process took place throughout 2024. In May, Kathryn Bigelow was announced as the director for this Netflix thriller. By June, stars like Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Gabriel Basso, Jared Harris, and Greta Lee had joined.

Over the next few months, more actors such as Tracy Letts, Moses Ingram, Anthony Ramos, and Jason Clarke came on board. Filming began in October 2024 in Trenton, New Jersey, and by December, the movie was already in post-production.
