Revving Up the Action: Leaked Set Clips Showcase Thrilling Car Chase in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently filming, and a wild car chase scene is stealing the show! This upcoming superhero movie, based on Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man, is the fourth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man series, coming after Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021.
Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios are teaming up to make it, with Sony Pictures Releasing bringing it to theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of the MCU’s Phase Six, according to industry reports.
Tom Holland is back as Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, joined by Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, and Michael Mando. The cameras started rolling on August 3, 2025, in Glasgow, Scotland, under the code name Blue Oasis, as reported by Total Film and Glasgow World.
Glasgow’s streets, like Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate, are doubling as New York City, giving the film a raw, urban feel. Filming in Glasgow will wrap by August 26, with more scenes to be shot at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England. Destin Daniel Cretton is directing, working from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, with cinematographer Brett Pawlak, a regular collaborator of Cretton’s, capturing every moment.
A leaked set video has fans buzzing, showing a high-speed car chase with a crowd running in panic and Spider-Man swooping in to lift someone to safety, according to posts circulating online.

It’s the kind of heart-pounding action Spider-Man fans live for! Set leaks are fueling speculation about the villains. Bradley Russell from Total Film noticed armored vehicles with a red demon logo, hinting at the Inner Demons gang led by Mister Negative in the comics.
Could this villain be swinging into the MCU? Meanwhile, Paul Trainer from Glasgow World spotted a rhinoceros head bust on set, sparking rumors that the Rhino, a classic Spider-Man enemy, might make an appearance. Filming also happened at Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey, London, on August 7, adding a creepy twist to the production, per local reports. Tom Holland’s thrilled to be filming on location again, a big change from the soundstage-heavy Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was limited by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m excited to start principal photography with location shooting, returning to the feel of making Homecoming,” Holland told saod. The car chase, a major action scene, is already a standout, with leaked footage showing stunts that have fans hyped. Sony’s been planning this movie since August 2019, even while working on No Way Home, according to trade reports.
By November 2021, producer Amy Pascal confirmed it would kick off a new trilogy for Holland’s Spider-Man. McKenna and Sommers started writing by February 2023, Cretton signed on to direct in October 2024, and the title Spider-Man: Brand New Day dropped in March 2025. Filming was delayed to fit Holland’s schedule after he worked on The Odyssey earlier in 2025, per Variety.
With production in full swing, the hype is building. Fans are buzzing about potential villains and that epic car chase, which promises classic Spider-Man thrills. Got thoughts on what’s next for Spidey? Drop them in the comments!
