Are all seasons & movies of ‘Power Rangers’ connected? What’s the best way to order them in?

The various seasons and movies of Power Rangers share a common theme and overarching concept, but they are not always directly connected in terms of a continuous storyline. Each season typically introduces a new team of Power Rangers with their own unique characters, suits, Zords (giant robots), and villains.

While there are occasional crossover episodes or team-ups that bring together Rangers from different seasons, the majority of Power Rangers series operate as standalone stories. The connection lies in the shared elements of the Power Rangers concept, such as the Morphing Grid, the battle between good and evil, and the teamwork dynamic.

Where can you watch the ‘Power Rangers’ franchise?

Netflix remains the most comprehensive single destination, hosting the recent entries including ‘Power Rangers Dino Fury’, ‘Power Rangers Cosmic Fury’, and ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always’.

In July 2025, Netflix also added ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Re-Ignition’, an AI-upscaled remaster of the original classic seasons, billed as season 19 on the platform. Free ad-supported options on Tubi and The Roku Channel have expanded access further, making the franchise more reachable than at any point in its streaming history.

What comes next for the ‘Power Rangers’ franchise?

The road from ‘Power Rangers Cosmic Fury’ to what comes next has been a turbulent one. The previously announced Netflix reboot, which had director Jonathan Entwistle attached since 2019, was officially scrapped in June 2024 after Hasbro stated it was seeking a new creative partner, according to reporting by TVLine. The planned cinematic universe connecting a film and a television series at Netflix did not survive the network’s exit from the project.

The franchise found its footing again on March 19, 2025, when Hasbro and 20th Television announced a new live-action series for Disney+, according to TheWrap. The showrunners attached to the project are Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, who led the successful ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ for Disney+, a pairing both confirmed publicly at the ‘Percy Jackson’ season two premiere in December 2025. In a significant break from franchise tradition, the new series will not incorporate footage from the Japanese ‘Super Sentai’ series, giving the creative team original control over all visual storytelling for the first time in the franchise’s history.

Principal photography was confirmed to be underway in 2026, with London serving as the primary filming location, according to Fandom Wire. Industry sources cited by SuperHeroHype point to a likely premiere window of 2027 on Disney+, though no official release date has been announced. A promotional rollout including a new comic run and merchandise tie-ins such as Godzilla x Power Rangers action figures from Playmates Toys is planned throughout 2026.

Separately, reports emerged in December 2024 that a new theatrical film reboot was in early development at Paramount Pictures in partnership with Hasbro, unrelated to both the 2017 film and the Entwistle-era project. No director, cast, or release date has been confirmed for that film at this time.
